Re: Atheist Q/A (because everyone else has one)

a follow question: If there were accurate predictions in the Bible, would you consider that the bible may be accurate? And the universe is expanding at an increasing rate, so the idea that the universe will recollapse on itself likely isn't true. I think we're already past the "escape velocity&...

Re: Participation in Non-Christian Religious Ceremonies

Attending a religious event no, there is nothing wrong with that. Performing a religious act, yes there is something wrong with that. There are plenty of places in the Bible where God was angry with people and punished them for performing religious rituals of other religions. But I think it's a grea...

Re: abortion bumper sticker

..."now if the child had Down Syndrome, or something like that, then this would be perfectly acceptable, but if it's a "normal" child, then this is such a crime.. etc.." It may just be me, but this kind of sounds like Adolf Hitler's reasoning for the Holocaust... Yeah... That's ...

Re: Atheist Q/A (because everyone else has one)

Well, QJ (for quad j) made the thread, so I think it makes sense to let him decide whether or not to allow debate here. The premise here is that everything has a cause and that god caused everything. But there isn't a cause for god here, he just exists. But another reason why this doesn't work is wh...

This is the only site I've seen the \:D/ smilie on. There are a few smilies I wish were on here though. I'd love to get a good eye rolling smilie. I'd also love a good :dull: face and a facepalm.

And of course this one is sweet

Another good place to go looking is the school's financial aide office. Talk with the people there and they should be able to point you to the money and tell you how to get it.

Re: College Advice

The other advantage of going to a bricks and mortar school is that you can get a job at the university to help offset the cost. You also can get to know your professors personally and they're a great help in picking programs and getting jobs later when you're getting ready to graduate.

Re: Hey, recommend me some good XBox 360 games.

I enjoyed the little I played of Fallout 3, and of course who doesn't like having Liam Neeson narrate to you? Yes, the awesomeness of his voice is only out done by Picard and James Earl Jones. I'd skip Dead Island and L4D if you can't access the internet. They both emphasize multiplayer. The Orange...

Re: College Advice

Yeah, if money is a problem I'd go with a community college. Get good grades there and you may be able to get a scholarship at another universtity. Or just get a job with a degree from the community college. Or If you score high enough on standardized tests you may be able to get a good scholarship ...

Re: I'm doing WHAT?

I looked at BJU last summer for a friend. It seemed like a decent place for some things, but it wasn't exactly right for her. She wanted a counselling degree, and I don't believe their program is designed for people wanting to go into professional counselling. The thing with the DVD is a bit extreme...

Re: ToOers For Democracy

The funds will be used to support TFD operations. A big part of that will be supporting candidates. I can not give a breakdown of what will be used where as it will be a council decision on how to spend the money, and the exact breakdown will likely change from time to time.

Re: ToOers For Democracy

No no no, the ToOers For Democracy's purpose is keep elections going by giving organized support to a candidate. Joining TFD isn't joining a group against Catspaw; it's joining a group for keeping democracy on the ToO.

ToOers For Democracy

While Catspaw is an excellent administrator, the elections are a vital part of the spirit of democracy that has been part of the Town of Odyssey. The ToO needs to keep that spirit of democracy to make sure the voice of the people is heard. Without elected officials, there is no incentive to listen ...

It's warmer, sort of, than earlier. That's not fake, however, it being man caused, preventable, or a problem is a different question. What's interesting to note that while CO2 is at its highest level recorded, but temperature levels are not. http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AsBpe0xGZuM/TX9rdOjSIfI/AAAAAAA...
