Happy Chinese/Vietnamese New Year!

(or Lunar New Year)

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Its the year of the snake! Though I highly doubt anybody here actually celebrates it. :(

I do! Not as a holiday, but I recognize the celebration. I've even received a couple red envelopes, an experience very special to me as explained here.

There were two campus celebrations this year, one for Vietnamese New Year and one for Chinese New Year.
The Vietnamese one was on Monday, but I didn’t make it. :( But I went in the next day and asked if they had any leftover envelopes and they did! \:D/
And the Chinese one was today. There was the usual festivities, food and stuff.

It was a different kind of envelope this year, made of plastic instead of paper. And there was actual real money inside this time! :o \:D/

(There was only one bill, that’s two pictures of it to show both sides.)
