Tim Tebow

The MAN needs his own topic!!

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Is anyone else in love / captivated by a man crush with Tim Tebow? \:D/

He's the most fun football player to watch, talk and read about. ;)

CONFESS.

 Are you joking?

He was like, all I heard about two years ago. I mean, that could be because I live in a place with a highly concentrated amount of SEC fans, but still, it was a long, long year.

He is really cool, though. \:D/ I adore his being so open with his Christianity; it's a great example to set.

What, may I ask, is "Tebowing"?

Um, the name actually sounds familiar, but I don't know why. What did he do?

Tim Tebow kneels down and thanks God whenver he scores a touchdown or when his team wins. People started copying the kneel and called it "Tebowing".

I admit to being baffled that people are so sheltered they are not even aware of Tim Tebow... even ignoring sports his name comes up like... everywhere. ;)

I admit to being a doubter at first but he has grown on me... he better not mess up the Bengals' playoff hopes, though. ;)

Tim Tebow was one of the most notable players for the Florida Gators, due in part to his sheer athletic awesomeness. At the moment, he's playing pro football, though I don't know what team. He's also well noted for being very outspoken for Jesus and has a very strong faith in Him, judging by his actions.

He's currently playing for the Denver Broncos, and has won like 7 of his 8 games he's been in.

And speaking of not hearing of him, you must not have been around when all that hullabaloo about Focus' Superbowl ad with him was going on.

He's a homeschool graduate as well, correct? \:D/ He was the first homeschooler to win the Heisman trophy I think. His parents were missionaries, too...
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance.

I'm not that sheltered, I just have zero interest in Football or football players. My brothers follow it, and my dad likes to keep up with the scores.

And I did know about him, I just didn't know his name. Ironically we were talking about him a few days ago, I think what he does is awesome!

Right, but I mean, just regular news, internet home pages, any form of media or just being outside and hearing people talk, you probably will hear of Tim Tebow. ;)

You mean he was the most notable.
I don’t have an opinion on Tebow in the NFL like everyone else, but I firmly hold the position that he was the greatest college football player in history.

Not to mention like...4 of them were inexplicable 4th quarter comebacks. \:D/

All the experts like said he wouldn't work, but he's been proving them wrong so far. I can't help but think his open faith has something to do with it...

People saying things like that is what turns people off about him. Tebow himself says he doesn’t believe God works the games out for him. It’s undeniable that he’s an amazing Christian witness, but that doesn’t make it impossible to separate his sports from his faith.

Ugh, he's a winner not a good NFL QB.

He has a good personality and he displays his faith but strictly as a player; he knows how to win but its not pretty.

Yeah... Me glorifying God all the time while playing soccer won't make me better. It's hard work that makes a better athlete. However, knowing that we are to do "everything we do unto the glory of God" can be a good push to perform at the best of our ability in order to honor Him instead of settling for 'whatever'.
