Probably at some point. No federal warrants for arrest or anything like that came up, so I haven't been hacked (internetical-metaphorically speaking) yet.

I have. There's a criminal who was in the news with the same exact name as me.

I do it regularly. I also have a Google Alert on my name.
If someone’s spreading false information on me I need to know!
If someone’s spreading false information on me I need to know!

http://www.google.com/alerts
It doesn’t tell you when someone Googles you, like it sounds, but it notifies you when a Google crawler finds your name (or whatever you tell it to watch for) on the interwebs.
Example:
If you enter ”Adventures in Odyssey”
It will send you an email when it finds the text Adventures in Odyssey (non case specific)
But make sure you use the quotes.
If you enter Adventures in Odyssey
It will send you any text with the word Adventures or in or Odyssey, even if they aren’t in the same string. This would be very bad because billions of webpages contain the word in, meaning your email would get swamped very fast.
So for keeping tabs on your name, I would suggest you set up one alert for just your last name, and one for you first name and last name. (make sure the first last is in quotes, otherwise it will also search for your first name alone, and if it’s a common name that will also flood your email)
I have it set up like this (if my name was John Smith):
One alert for:
Smith
One alert for:
“John Smith”

I did it. At one point I accidentaly put a ton of personal info online with a band's website (not my own) and that popped up. Fortunately, the band took that portion of the website down.

Of course! A few years ago, I couldn't find myself. Results were all for a folk musician with my first name who often collaborated with another that shares my last name. Now I'm right there at the top, thanks to Facebook and one other site with good page rank where my full name is listed. Googling my husband's name is, of course, how I came to join here.

I've googled my name many times.
There's actually someone else with my name, which is amazing considering my last name.
So most results are for her, because apparently this person was running for a school board or something like that.
