Alas my spawn demands to see this.

I'd possibly watch it at home eventually of my own volition just because it looks so weird but probably gonna have to go opening day and pay exorbitant ticket prices. :(

I have very little personal interest in Minecraft, and yet have heard reams of details about characters and buildings and other stuff that I have mostly forgotten due to lack of interest. ;) There is nothing that someone won't try to make into a movie! Minecraft is so popular that I guess the real mystery is why it took so long. It looks like it could maybe be cute.

I ended up really enjoying it. It’s super dumb, but it knows it’s super dumb and somehow it works out.

I heard rave reviews from a couple of people in the right demographic to enjoy the movie. Top, you're right that it makes a difference when a dumb movie knows that it's dumb. I won't see it on my own volition, but might eventually end up seeing bits and pieces.

In my case it probably helped that even though I'm not a fan of the game Minecraft, I've been subjected to lots of it and know lots of bits and pieces of game mechanics etc, which a lot of the jokes hinge on. The translation of game mechanics into "real life" was amusing. \:D/ (like one of the trailers has the scene where they cushion their fall from falling hundreds of feet by landing in a little bit of water)

I'm not going to go see it in theaters but it looks fun in campy way. I love me some minecraft so I'll probably watch it when it inevitably shows up for free on youtube or amazon in 2-3 years.

Yeah if you like camp stuff and will get the game references you'll enjoy it enough.
