Which courses will you be taking next semester?
With high schools and colleges around the nation prepping frantically for the return of their students, I thought I would see what you will be studying.
I am taking
Western Thought and Expression I
The Bible and Classical Literature
Introduction to Electronic Media
Introduction to Business Principles
Earth Science
and a 3 credit hour earth science lab.

For the first time since jr high I only have 5 classes this coming semester!!
Restoration movement (church history class)
Survey of Curch History
Biblical Interpretation
Gospel of John (most exciting non lingual course)
And Elements of Biblical Hebrew I
I also plan on auditing the elements of Biblical Greek class to refresh myself after not studying as much as I should have this summer, and because I'm a nerd who enjoys sitting in on extra lectures in my free time.

I'm taking eight classes starting at 7:20 in the morning. I'll have to wake up at 5:30 just to make myself pretty.
I'm taking:
P.E. (because I didn't take it freshman year like everyone else and I need it to graduate
)
Pre-AP Precalculus
AP English
AP US History
AP Physics B
Art II
Quiz Bowl (my coach would kill me if I didn't)
Law Academy III (spending the year debating...woo-hoo
).

My life is going to be a little rough next year by the looks of my schedule.
I'm taking:
Intro to Energy and Environment (Should be interesting)
Differential Equations (Yay, more calculus! )
Probability and Statistics for Engineers (Should be decent)
Tools for Civil Engg Design (Might be a lot of Excel, but that's okay)
Dynamics (Why do I need to know about moving things when I'm in Civil? Oh well, should be interesting)
Acoustics, Optics, and Radiation (Just kill me now, please. If you don't, I know this class will.)

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and guess you're doing engineering Anna.
This semester looks like... er, fun:
Discrete Mathematics (hopefully that means more boolean algebra, yay!)
Programming Techniques (yay, C++)
Data Structures and Algorithms (meh.)
Intermediate Programming and Natural Language Processing (hope we get to make our own talking AIs!
I shall call mine Mabel.)
Syntax and Semantics (more syntax x_x)
Computational Morphology and Statistics (sounds about as much fun as syntax)
French Aural (boo)
French Oral (ditto)
French Grammar (ditto)
French Writing (ditto)
Aaaand my lovely weekly seminars on research in the area of computational linguistics. Which make no sense to anyone without a PhD.

I took AP US History last year online and I got a 4 on the AP test. It's not too bad. I also have to drive to a college class 30 minutes away that start at 7:30. However I can get up at like 6:50 because I am a guy with short hair. (Nice part is classes are MWF and don't start until Labor Day so some days I get to sleep in until 9TigerintheShadows wrote:I'm taking eight classes starting at 7:20 in the morning. First semester, of my Senior year of high school I will be taking...
Communications (@ local college)
AP Government (online; 2nd semester will be AP Microeconomics)
AP World History
AP Calculus
Lunch (I had to throw that in)
Band (easy, relaxing, tuba playing time)
AP Chemistry
AP English Literature (took AP comp last year).
Plus come May I get to take all of those AP tests plus the AP Bio Class and AP Macroeconomics I am finishing right now online.
Talk about an easy Senior year. YAY!

Next semester is going to be a bit intense for me too. >_>
Calculus I
Advanced French I
Peoples and Cultures of Northeast Asia
Biological Anthropology
Stars, Galaxies, and Cosmology
Astronomy Lab
I'm actually on the waitlist for French... REEEALLY hoping I'll make it in (kind of a last minute decision). If not, I'll be taking SQL, and will have to like.. take French out of order, with advanced II in spring and advanced I next autumn. Hopefully that doesn't happen. o_o

Me, too! Except mine are all for junior year. I get to slack off next year. WHADDUP SENIORITIS.Stop Wooton Around wrote:Plus come May I get to take all of those AP tests plus the AP Bio Class and AP Macroeconomics I am finishing right now online.

A year ago I'd have laughed, and I'm still a bit giggly, but I agree--APUSH isn't that bad. Our class is pretty hard, though; I'm one of only a few people who got an A. I once read a fanfiction where the characters have an APUSH teacher who's two years away from retirement and sits at her desk all day while the students do worksheets. I'm like, I haven't seen a history worksheet in over a year; I don't know from what APUSH teacher this writer might have drawn inspiration.Stop Wooton Around wrote:I took AP US History last year online and I got a 4 on the AP test. That explains why I've got three more units to do on my summer school health stuff and it's all got to be done by Thursday, not to mention my summer reading work for English.
