Re: MAC users beware...

bah, that's no different than what y'all do as it is. This just means that now we have gloating powers as well! :- Although the Macintosh has become nearly legendary for its alleged invulnerability to viruses, there have been several in the past, though mostly for the original platform. Probably on...

Re: MAC users beware...

*sigh* PC came first. All Mac did was copy. If by "PC" you mean "computers running Windows", you're terribly wrong. Mac (System 1) Release Date: January 24, 1984 Windows 1.0 Release Date: November 20, 1985 Personal computers in general did exist before Macintoshes (although the ...

Re: Favorite Minor/Recurring Characters

The Rathbones, obviously, but they might actually be major characters. :-k Yeah, they do. I'm using "minor/recurring" as meaning in 9 episodes or less (AIOWiki's definition is 20 and down, but 10 and up they're mostly people everyone knows, and I wanted to focus on some of the less notice...

Favorite Minor/Recurring Characters

With so much talk about what we dislike lately, I figure it'd be interesting to discuss something we do like. There's a lot of them I like, of course, but two that I always love hearing when they're around are Melanie Jacobs, and Eric Myers. Melanie is the best little sister the series has ever had....

Re: Stupidest Episodes

Ha! Bob, you and I have exactly the same opinion about "Opposite Day." Bad Whit. Bad Bad Bad Whit. To be fair, I think you (or someone that felt the same way) had a huge influence on my perception... I didn't think much about it myself until I read y'all's opinions. ;) That *is* a problem...

Re: Stupidest Episodes

I've decided to try to finish this list, but I won't be as negative as in the last set -- with most of this episodes coming up it's pretty obvious to everyone what's wrong with them anyway, so I don't have to supply as much detail as with the last few. I'm afraid this will come off as more like an &...

Re: Stupidest Episodes

Want to add an extension to this sometime, but I feel like I've been really too negative lately... and besides the AIO Wiki is currently listed by Google as a current malware source, so I'm not inclined to visit it to look over all the albums, and I can't be bothered to read the official page. So I ...

Re: 686: The Green Ring Conspiracy, Part 8

When I heard the first episode of the Green Ring Conspiracy, I didn't know what to think... but now that I've heard more episodes through, I have to say that I'm really impressed. Albums #51 and #52 weren't 100% amazing, and I wasn't sure that the Odyssey team had it in them to put this kind of thin...

Re: Stupidest Episodes

Album 17: On Earth as it is in Heaven : I almost hate to criticize this album, because there is a lot to like here -- it even had an episode which used Danny Schmidt pretty well, which is amazing considering how almost everyone hates him. Nevertheless, it isn't perfect. "The Power" in par...

Re: Stupidest Episodes

Don't get me wrong, I still like Odyssey as a concept and a series, but there's a lot of silly or stupid episodes... sometimes they seem as numerous as the sand of the sea. I'll to go through some albums and try to give you at least one bad episode from each one (or if it's an especially atrocious a...

Re: Soda, Pop or Coke?

Deep in the heart of Texas, it's preferably called a soft drink, but if not it's acceptable to refer to it, or generic cola-like soft drinks in general, as Coke -- however, brand names are always referred to by their brand name, so Pepsi is Pepsi, Dr. Pepper is Dr. Pepper, etc. "Soda" is o...

Re: Words That Make You Cringe

Wrote a "song" based on all of the words that y'all threw out; sing it to the tune of "Friday". I'm no song-writer, so don't expect it to sound good, but if any of you actually sing it (or a similar song, that still has all of the words in it; you can rearrange them and add new, ...

Re: For The Homeschooled

We did mostly A Beka at the beginning, then switched over to some other type, I think -- can't remember exactly who did it -- then over to SOS, which was the worst, then over to a mixture of curriculum. Switched On Schoolhouse had a few bright spots, but their math program, I believe it was, put me ...

Re: Favorite Odyssey Bad Guy

I'll always like Blackgaard and the rest of the characters from that saga -- especially Darkness Before Dawn, with Philip Glossman, Jellyfish, and Prof. Bovril, but Dalton Kearn is probably one of the best villains in the series... I really liked his multi-dimensional character portrayal. It would h...

Re: Which old Character would you like to bring back to AIO?

She isn't really an *old* character, but I wouldn't mind having Mandy Straussberg back around.

Maybe replace Connie, since she's been getting on my nerves for the past few years.

Re: Odyssey Churches

From "Isaac the Benevolent", we know that Lucy and Isaac go to Whit's church also! This isn't such an elegant source for Lucy's church-going record -- that seems to be just as tangled up as her last name. As of "It Is Well", Lucy clearly indicates that she goes to a different ch...
