If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!
Do you call carbonated beverages in general Pop, Soda, Coke, or something else?

I wasn't yelling. I was talking with vehemence.
We call it "coke" and occasionally "soda", but we see "pop" as being somewhat ludicrous.

Of those 3 options, soda. More often just "drink," shortened from soft drink.
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. ♡
Calling it "coke" is evil since Coke is a specific type from a specific brand.
"Pop" is most common around here, but soda is fine. I usually specify specific type (Mountain Dew, Pepsi Max, etc) rather than call it "pop". Or I just say soft drink.

Top has represented the northern Midwest (Indiana, Michigan) quite well. Everything said in the above post applies for me.
Except Pepsi Max stinks.

It's pop around here, but just two counties over it's soda, apparently.

I personally call them ‘soda’, but that’s a shortening of ‘soda pop’ which ‘pop’ also is, so I would accept either of those.
