NaNoWriMo

Who's on board for this year?

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Yep
That’s when you change ‘did some checking’ to ‘checked’ and halfway through deleting your computer freezes and apparently doesn’t complete your command.

Well, I'm not that far behind. And I do mostly have a plot. So it's not as bad as I made it out to be. \:D/

It doesn't matter how 'far behind' you are. What matters is that you're writing more than you would, otherwise, and having fun doing it. \:D/

As of last night, with two word wars help, I have 3931 words... should have been to 5,001. now I have to be at like, 6668 by tonight. I'm glad I'm going to my regions write-in tomorrow night - I need it. I also need the challenge. Last year I had my sister, and two friends doing word wars with me and helping me out. This year, I'm just busy and no motivation. It is sad.

Keep it up, everyone!!! :) My writing buddies are doing really good. You guys are flying! :D

I hit 4,610 last night. I'm going to try for 6,500 today. Is anyone else doing the word sprints on Twitter? Those are helping me out a ton.

You're a beast, Amy. I'm impressed. \:D/

I saw some kid on the forums had 43 k today. I'm struggling to keep up this year. WHERE ARE MY WORDS, BRAIN. WHERE.

I did some of the Twitter word sprints last night. They're good motivation, but it's more fun when you have actual people screaming at you. :(

Okay, apparently there's a kid's website where you just set your own goal. Which I've never heard of.

Who cares though this is more epic. \:D/

A winner would make it awesome... so they can pick out possible professional writers from all the amateurs.

Note: I'm not insinuating anything about any of you guys. I'm sure you're all great.

There couldn't be a real winner, though... cause every story is rubbish when it's finally completed. :- The goal is to get 50k, not write a good story that's at least 50k. The editing comes later. \:D/

I follow the Word Sprint account on twitter, but I have yet to do any. I'm so behind. My brain is just not in it this year. :/ I kind of figured. Even though I am having a lot of down time, my mind is somewhere else, a lot of other drama in life. It sucks.

Termite is right. The novels written are rubbish. Mine is from last year, and this year, already heading that way. But winners are those who get the goal - 50,000. That is a huge feat to overcome, srsly. Last year I wasn't sure I could do it. This year, highly doubting it, but I'm busy and stressed and what not. Brain not in it.

And really, everyone starts out an amateur in writing. I'm still learning. Someone I know wrote their first fanfic this past week and have me beat by a few YEARS. I feel jealous, but it just happens. And NaNo isn't about picking the people who are greatest out of those who just wanna write and have fun. Not a popularity contest, thank goodness. That would suck.

To be honest, the only really popular NaNoWriMo written novel I know of is "Water for Elephants" - the only one to get a movie too. Otherwise, unless you want to be a professional writer 24/7, NaNo is just for fun.
