Best movie of 2012

Post by Wooton Z. Bassett »

So, what do you think was the best movie of 2012? For me, It'd have to be either Avengers or The Dark Knight Rises. Lincoln was good too, but not my favourite.

I have to say The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.

I actually only saw two of the new movies this year.

I'd most likely say Hobbit too.....IF it was as good as the LOTR trilogy.

Off the top of my head without extensive thought I'd say...

3. TDKR
2. Skyfall
1. Avengers

But I'll have to think back to what actually came out this year.

For me it would be Lincoln since it was the only movie I actually went to the theater to see.

I feel ashamed to call myself a cinephile. I don't think I saw a single big 2012 release this year... Theaters are so expensive, and I've been busy catching up on last years releases :P I'd have to say what I'm looking forward to seeing from 2012 would be The Hobbit, Les Miserables, The Hunger Games, and October Baby. *goes to see if the library has any of those yet*

They won't have The Hobbit and Le Miserables, as they are still rather new, and only in theaters.

I know, I was thinking more along the lines of October Baby, The Hunger Games, and anything else that came out earlier this year. :) I'll have to wait for Les Mis and The Hobbit to come out on DVD

I would say...

1. The Avengers
2. Rise of the Guardians
3. People Like Us

All three of which I either have bought/preordered as of earlier today.

I did like TDKR, but it wasn't in my top 3. The same goes for the Hobbit. Other then that, every other movie I saw was... well, good, because it wasn't New Years Eve (that's a 2011 disaster, so I'm safe) Even though the Bourne Legacy, as much as I enjoy Renner, was not that satisfying. Go figure.

I, too, have not seen very many 2012 releases.
  1. Tooth Fairy 2 (C+)
  2. Mirror Mirror (B-)
  3. Brave (B)
  4. The Lorax (B+)
  5. The Avengers (A)
  6. The Amazing Spider-Man (A)
  7. The Dark Knight Rises (A)
  8. The Hunger Games (A+)
And yes, The Lorax is supposed to be ahead of Brave.

Erm O:) In my opinion, no. Just no ;) The Hobbit doesn't even deserve a spot in the top 100.

I still have quite a few 2012 movies to view...so it wouldn't really be fair to make a list at the moment :( I'm working on watching them, one at a time :p

I do have to mention The Hunger Games, though \:D/ I'm not going to claim that it was one of the best movies of the year (because it wasn't), but it was still amazing to see one of my favorite books brought to the big screen :inlove: I obsessed over the series to the point of driving my family insane (hold on...I'm still doing that even today. Oops.) That movie was literally one of the biggest highlights of my year.

I only saw Brave and The Hobbit. The Hobbit was better.

And I can tell you what the best movie of 2014 is going to be! :D

Something amazing. Something I've been waiting for for 3 years.

Though it's been in the making for the past 5 years.
