Oh, I see what you mean.
Yes, the rank and status are separate and do not affect each other. Ranks automatically change depending on your post count. The current levels can be seen here. The status is something you set yourself to whatever you want, and you can change whenever you want.

But Anemone (for example) has "Horse Crazy 14" instead of a Catspaw/Rank.

I think that you can change your rank by PMing Catspaw with what you want it to be.

Yes, if you request a custom rank then that supersedes the auto one and will be permanently displayed.
But if too many people do that then the greatness of Catspaw will not be adequately proclaimed
