I have a few friends who listen to it...bbut not that many. Was it ever super big though?

There are still some big band/ska type bands out there... don't know if there are any "Christian" ones left or not, though.

Each generation has it's own style of music that is all the rage. This style is dead now. Mainly, you see old people listening to it nowadays.

The days of this style are LONG gone. Doesn't make it wrong or right. Times just change.

Besides, this style had to get out of the way to make room for Lady Gaga and Britney! \:D/

Eh, not too old. Like 20-30s, I would think.

I don't mind this style, but I haven't had a desire to listen to it in years.

Christianrock.net plays lots of Ska music at Christmastime. :( It's very annoying.

Hey, I'm in high school and I blast it constantly!

@Amesthitic, it's like the same thing as alt/punk, just cooler. Maybe Christianmusic.net got it confused with reaggee. :sick:

Nah, I'm pretty sure I don't like ska. :P Though I am suspicious of reggae too--much of it has Rastafarian ties. :/ Not good.

Nup. The opening just didn't do it for me, and the brass instruments aren't my thing. The rest was meh.

*cough* But anyways, I still don't like ska. The only ska song I kinda liked was Relient K's "Five Iron Frenzy is Either Dead or Dying - Ska Version". :- What a joyous message to spread to the masses.

I'm not a fan of the song, but the usage of ska elements was fairly good. Still, not my favorite; not by a long shot.

I agree, the use of ska was really good. I really dislike the chorus of that song though. :(

You do have to specify what kind of ska you're listening to. Like many "ska" groups had a very reagge, '70s sound. But later ska bands such as the OC Supertones and Five Iron Frenzy were third-wave, punk-driven ska. So, they had a ska element to them, but were mainly horn-tinged rock.
