Well I'm sorry if I said anything really mean about her. I don't think I did though....
I'm really sick of the 'we as Christians shouldn't critique anything'. 
There's a difference between critiquing something and simply hating on something with no given reason. So far, everyone on here has at least stated WHY they dislike her video, and I doubt anyone on here at all dislikes Rebecca Black herself.

It was for donorschoose.org, and I think about $86,000 was raised to go towards art education in schools. I don't know more specific details than that. Charity is a good reason to sing that song!
I really agree with this. So many people assume that stating our true opinion is unchristian. There is nothing wrong with stating our opinions as long as it is does respectfully. I personally do not in any way like this song, and personally find it humorous the way it is spreading so quickly. This does not mean I hate Rebecca Black. This does not mean she should never sing again. But saying the song is not good is simply stating fair opinion. As others have said, if we want true examples of harsh, cruel comments, we only have to go as far as reading the comments on her Youtube video. Edit: Just read some comments on the youtube video. Wow. I quit reading on page two. They were too crude to continue reading. I'd quote some, but uh, not only would the admins remove them, but it would be far more than just unchristian to repeat them. Wow. I feel bad for her now. Our comments here about the song look as nice as fresh baked cookies now compared to what has been said on Youtube. Those people have no right to say the stuff they're saying to a young 13 year old girl. She is only 13 right?

Yeah, I've heard about some of it, even though I never actually saw the comments (having not actually seen the official music video; I only heard the song). I think that these are probably some of the same people who did things like voting for Justin Bieber to go to North Korea for his world tour or started screaming at the movie screen at Miley Cyrus during the Bieber movie (yes, the latter I do take from personal experience).
Of course, her reaction is sort of wonky as well. After reading the comments on YouTube, she apparently said something along the lines of "Well, at first I was sad but then I realized that I got a reaction, which is what I wanted." Yeah, when people are telling you things like "Get anorexia and maybe you'll look prettier," I would probably not view that as something I wanted.

you can learn a lot from job 38-42, being humble isn't the easiest but its worth it.
