Middle names?

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Middle names?

Post by Trixie Belden »

So, what are/is you guys' middle name? Like them or not? Got some weird family tradition behind your middle name like I do, or was it simply something your parents liked the sound of?

Come, spill all! I'll go first. You know, set a good example and all that stuff.

My middle name is Jane. I luvs my middle name, mostly because it's from, as I said, a weird family tradition. My grandmother's middle name is Jane, and HER grandmother's middle name is Jane, and her MOTHER'S middle name is Jane. So it's got a long, rich history attached to it. I like it, mostly because it's a bit like my personality. I'm a practical person all things considered, and I wouldn't feel right if my middle name was, say, Bianca, or Crystal. (No offense to those people with the middle names Bianca and Crystal, that was simply my example.)

Did you ever think that life would be easier if we got to choose our own names. I sincerely doubt that there would be people named "Ima Hogg" running around out there!

My middle name is Adaya. And my name has a really cool story behind it..

Before I was born, my parents chose my name and my middle name was Rose and my first name is something I'm not mentioning...anyways. After I was born, my mom thought I looked more like a Rose, so she started calling me that. By that time though, my name was already on my birth certificate, so I just went by my middle name. A couple years ago, I got tired of being called by my first name when I went into a new class at school and stuff like that, so we looked into getting my name legally changed. I got it legally changed last summer and since then, it's been Rose Adaya. My dad found the name Adaya online and it means God's precious jewel. Plus it's pretty. lol.

My middle name is Elizabeth...it doesn't have any family tradition behind it that I know of. :D My parents just liked it, I guess! \:D/

My middle name IS Rose... It's some Italian thing, I think. :-k Like the son is supposed to be named after the grandfather... But my middle name was for my late Great-Aunt Rosie or something.

She left many of us behind. She left us heartbroken. And though we cry now there'll come a time when we'll laugh. Because we'll see her again someday. We'll be with her in heaven. Yay, another Elizabeth! \:D/

It's fitting that it's my middle name, since Laura Ingalls' middle name was also Elizabeth.

Actually, come to think of it, I may have known that already... it has been five or six years since I read those books.

My middle name is Rose.

Before I was born the doctors thought I was going to have Down syndrome. The doctors asked my mom if she wanted to abort me, of course she said "No, I'm having this baby Down syndrome or not." Anyway, my parents (mostly my mom) wanted to call me Rose because a rose is one of the most expensive most popular flowers. So, if I really did have Down syndrome, she wanted me to know that I am special in God's eyes Down syndrome or not. But when I was born I was as healthy as could be! The doctors were... WRONG! :shame:
