All about Dance!!
If you love dance (just like me) then this is the place for you!!! We talk about anything & everything to do with dance!!
I love dancing. Unfortunately, I've never taken actual lessons, so I'm definitely not as good as I wish to be.
I enjoy dancing pretty much any kind of dance, although I would really like to get ballroom lessons. Right now I'd say I'm probably best at just modern freestyle...or whatever. I also have lots of fun with line dances (cha cha, electric slide, ect.).

I enjoy watching ballet, but I've never done any kind of dancing....unless you count twirling around the kitchen.

I love dance! It is one of the best things in the world even if you totally stink at it! I have been taking dance for about a year now, but I had some dance experience because I was a competitive gymnast for three years.
My favorite types of dance would have to be Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, & Hip-Hop. Modern is okay, so is Break Dancing, I took Stomp Rhythm for a while & enjoyed that too.
I have never taken Tap or Popping/Locking, but they look very fun.
I really like Contemporary because the music is very good. I also like it because the only Contemporary teacher I have ever had is Danielle Peig, who was a finalist on 'So You Think You Can Dance.'
Ballet is really fun because not only is it fun to watch, it is very graceful & Ballets tell a story. I also like it because I was just given permission to go en pointe!!! which is a big deal for a ballerina!
Jazz & Lyrical are sort of similar, but I love them both too!!!

Hi IDANCE4JESUS!! That's cool that you've just gotten into dancing and love it so much!
I was a dancer throughout my childhood, starting when I was 5 through college. Tap was always my favorite! I like making noise
, but more than that like exploring the different rhythms you can make along to (or without) music. I also loved modern and lyrical as well as Broadway style jazz. I like the idea of telling a story through movement, so modern/interpretive was what I did a lot in school. I'm not built for the rigors of ballet, nor cool enough for Hip Hop or Contemporary.
Maybe if you keep practicing, you can be a dancer on TV or a Broadway show or a Ballet company too!

I never dance...hey, I'm a boy! All I do is twirl around to music and sing. My brother shouts.

Boys can dance!! Ever heard of Fred Astaire? Savion Glover? Mikhail Baryshnikov? I would say the men that are popular dancers are even more famous than the women.

I agree! I know a bunch of boys and grown men that dance, personally. My favorite dance is worship dance.darcie wrote:Boys can dance!! Ever heard of Fred Astaire? Savion Glover? Mikhail Baryshnikov? I would say the men that are popular dancers are even more famous than the women.

You dance to Christian songs.

It is usually lyrical style dancing set to a hymn or Christian music to tell a story or convey a message. Sometimes our Worship Arts group at church will use music and dance to enforce the sermon that weekend.

There is nothing wrong with men dancing! How do you think that ballerinas do Pas de Deux unless they have a partner?

I love to dance!
I love to dance to my favorite (soon to be former) musical group, pureNRG.

I love to dance too! I took ballet as a kid (wasn't very good, but then a few years ago I took it again. Still wasn't very good, but I think I did better than when I was a child) Anywayz, I've also taken tap dance and hip-hop/breakdancing. I love hip-hop and breakdancing style the most, but I like to mix in ballet and lyrical stuff too; that, and making up my own moves. Someday, I really want to choreograph dances-particularly to the song Monster by Skillet (yes, I know that sounds weird, but it's still my dream)

Till the end of the line.

I danced with Highest Praise Dance and Worship Ministries for ten years... Then Miss Cindy took a year? two years? off to spend more time with her family... And now, it's too far away for us to go to.

Love you always, SnC

That's sad! You should always keep dancing, though! It is totally worth it!Termite wrote:I danced with Highest Praise Dance and Worship Ministries for ten years... Then Miss Cindy took a year? two years? off to spend more time with her family... And now, it's too far away for us to go to.

Well, right now I'm recovering from issues with my ankle, so it's kind of out of the question for the moment....
