Chips

Tortilla, potato, or other?

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Chips

Post by KODY 105 »

Discuss the world-famous junk food here! Do you prefer plain potato chips, or the flavored-powdered tortilla chip Doritos? Or do you like some other kind? What is the strangest type of chippy-like food you have ever seen? Have you ever seen one larger than five inches in diameter?

I think I might prefer Doritos over regular potato chips... although, yay for all such chips! \:D/

Oh, this topic has very bad timing, because I've been eating lots of chips lately and really need to stop. :( I like ketchup, salt and vinegar, dill pickle, sour cream and green onion (the ripple ones) and nachos (Doritos or whatever other brand).

Brand-wise, I usually prefer Old Dutch, but Lays is okay too. I thought Old Dutch was mainly just in Canada, but Wikipedia seems to imply that at least some of the Americans here should have heard of it too. ;)

Oh, can be include crunchy Cheetos in this topic? Because those are totally yummy too! Just the crunchy ones, though. I'm not a big fan of the puff/regular Cheetos or of any other brand of this kind of product.

I can't go more than 24 hours without my daily dose of chips!

I'm not really picky when it comes to chips (or junk food in general ;)), but I am partial to Ruffles and Old Dutch. Also, for those of us lucky folks in Canada, has anyone tried President's Choice selection of chips? They are amazing.

That's what I always assumed, too. I know you couldn't get them in Ontario (the province) until a couple years ago.

Lays ftw! They are so good... I could eat a whole bag! I also like the kettle-cooked potato chips, but Cheez-Its/Cheese Nips are the best afternoon snack.

I generally refuse to go into the stores that carry PC products out of a (perhaps misplaced) sense of loyalty, so I've never tried them. They can't be better than Old Dutch. :noway:

That's pretty lame. I guess us non-Ontarians get all the good stuff! \:D/

Apparently, like Mark Messier, you can't eat just one. :(

I dislike most chips. Every once in a while I'll eat a couple of Doritos or just the plain tortilla chips, but most others I never eat. I make up for it though by eating lots of popcorn and pretzels....and Goldfish. :anxious:

My mom doesn't like chips so there are none in my house, but my favorite is plain chips. Uncrinkled and only salted. Baked Lays or Doritos are the WORST!!!

We have an Old Dutch plant in the nearest city - with the little windmill logo on it. And yes, it does smell like potato chips when you drive by. ;)

My favorite locally available chips are blue corn chips and sun chips. And, though I haven't had them in ages, those natural non-orange Cheetos (that look like packing peanuts) are pretty tasty too. ;)

However, I LOVE Walker's salt and vinegar chips sold in UK and in Maryland they sell a brand called Utz that makes a spicy, crab-seasoning flavor which is most excellent.

If it's going to be something in a metallic bag, Doritos Cool Ranch aren't bad. Plain old Lay's very rarely. I generally prefer a good quality tortilla chip or pita chip to potato chips. Pita chips rock. \:D/

Oh, and as far as weird, there are some Olive chips in the pantry at the moment. Looks like a baked flat bread-ish thing with a variety of olives. Might try it. Oh, and veggie chips (sample product ;)) are another odd but good chipy type thing.

Yeah, plain old tortilla chips I like too. :) The store I work at sells a chip mix that has veggies in it, sorta like that. Looks like:

I like the Chik-Fil-A waffle ones the best. With bbq sauce.

Wait... you meant those chips.
