What's your favorite AIO song?

Whit's wiping down the counter, Connie's mopping the floor, and the kids are sipping on their milkshakes. If you want to talk about Adventures in Odyssey the radio drama, this is the spot to do just that!

What's your favorite AIO song?

Post by King Butter Turtle »

It could be from Eugene Sings or Odyssey sings or just any episode; whatever.

I'd probably have to say "Annum Novum". It's so fun to sing along with. \:D/

And then of course: "Have you ever been to Odyssey?" :headphones:

Either "I Am Your Man in Blue" by Officer Burke or "Ode to Macaroni" by Wooton. Both classics.

I've always been partial to "Seasonal Felicitations," mainly because it's been around for so long. However, "Somewhere" (from "The Great Wishy Woz, 1") and Tamika's song from "Odyssey Sings" are both good ones. Although, I happen to think that AIO should not have got into non-Christmas musicals (especially ones created to advertise a particular product ;) ).

I have to concur with everyone, all of these are great songs! I think the song that comes to mind as my favorite would have to be "The Prison Song", which Hal Smith and Will Ryan sing at the end of "Inside the Studio".

If I had the wings of an angel
Over these prison walls I would fly
I'd fly to the arms of my darling
And there I'd be willing to die. . .

Somewhere, that Mandy sings on The Great Wishy Woz, and Ode to Macaroni are my favorites. \:D/

Oh, I forgot that one!

I would love to have full versions of those and other behind-the-scenes moments... especially from the "old days."

"Have You Ever Been to Odyssey?" ranks near the top of my list. \:D/

The one Mandy sings in "The Great Wishy Woz" is also an excellent song... "Somewhere," I think.

Well, do songs sung or spoken in AIO count?

"What a Friend We Have in Jesus" is my favorite song from AIO. Donna Barclay reads the words of this song in memory of Karen, her best friend who died in the epic episode "Karen."

Same here! I also love the poem that 2 Large or whatever his name says in that one episode. You know, when there's that stormy weather and Connie sings Row Your Boat (Which I always LOL when I hear).

"I was trapped by the invisible walls of my fate.
Fooled into thinking that I could not escape.
Chained up in a ghetto where my father died.
Tricked into thinking I could never go outside.
Surrounded by my friends who knew nothing but war.
Shackled to everything that had gone on before.
I would forever be stuck in this dead-end life of mine,
my heart turned back by a city limit sign.

And yet . . .

And yet I now see a way out of my concrete jail.
A way to soften a heart that's grown stale.
I understand now what it takes to get real.
If you want to stand up you have to learn how to kneel.

I surrender. My weapons are down at my feet.
'Cause we'll never have freedom with blood on the streets."
