Everyone issues a manifesto these days. Even the Evangelicals. I mean, really: evangelicals issuing a manifesto? (And shouldn't it be the gospels or something?)
During this "testing the waters" stage, however, I should like to take a few moments to do what Fred Thompson never did, which is to say, to take a stand. To tell you what I'm for and against, beyond cigars (Fred is in favor) and Michael Moore (Fred is opposed). To that end, the following list, by no means complete, is submitted for your consideration:
FOR: Fermat's Penultimate Theorem
AGAINST: Non-Euclidean geometry
FOR: Constitutional provisions for letters of marque and reprisal
AGAINST: Gaudy church signs with letters in marquee on revival
FOR: Truth, or at least truthiness, at all degrees of convenience
AGAINST: Lying Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them... lyingly
FOR: A resurgence in the popularity of the name "Hulga"
AGAINST: Prosthetics-pilfering Bible salesmen
FOR: Hope
AGAINST: Superdelegates
FOR: Hungarian Martians
AGAINST: Lupercalia festivities
FOR: The Red Army Choir
AGAINST: The Soviet Ballet
FOR: Rotten boroughs
AGAINST: Vito Fossella (R-NY), a rotten congressman in the boroughs
FOR: Predetermined outcomes
AGAINST: Kant's third antimony

"I will show you fear in a handful of dust."
I try not to take sides during an election, but a man with such wit and wisdom would be hard to resist!Clodius Albinus wrote: FOR: Constitutional provisions for letters of marque and reprisal
