College
So, for those of you considering college for next year, or even a few years from now...........what type of school do you think you'll go to?
God does not call the qualified, He qualifies the called.
God, Grant us the peace that comes from honest dealings so that no fear of discovery will haunt our sleep May we inflict no pain, bring no shame, and seek no profit by another's loss.

I've spent four happy, gleeful years at public college.

I've applied for Regent University's online program, beginning this fall. Presently looking to major in Organizational Leadership.

You didn't have community college there. What's wrong with community college? That's where I'm currently going and after that I have no idea. (I'll have an AA...) but I would like to go to a private Christian college.
“God grant me the courage not to give up what I think is right even though I think it is hopeless.” Chester W. Nimitz
I'm headed to a public university this fall.
I considered attending a Christian college for a while. However, I believe God has called me to go into the science field, and most Christian colleges are liberal arts or do not have very good science departments.
The private vs. public decision didn't seem that crucial to me...the biggest difference I see between them is the cost. Public universities receive funding from tax dollars, so most can necessarily be cheaper.

I'm very sorry. I hope I enjoy myself there!Monday wrote:As you know, I have a very dear friend that went there. She didn't like it at all.David O wrote:I'll be attending Liberty University this fall. It's Jerry Fallwell's school - a very outspoken Christian college indeed!
I have been on campus before, and like the atmosphere. I think I'll fit in. Again, I'm sorry the experience wasn't good for your friend.
Sweet dude! Stop by sometime!Dr. Watson wrote:Whoa, that's like less than two hours away from where I live David!David O wrote:I'll be attending Liberty University this fall. It's Jerry Fallwell's school - a very outspoken Christian college indeed!
Monday, I wish you would be able to go to Liberty with me. We could have some great times, going to games together, watching PG or PG-13 rated movies, discussing philosophy over coffee at starbucks, and generally hang out. I know I'd be all up on that. I'll never forget that time you and I had at 7-11. That was magical. When you started break dancing, my jaw hit the floor. It was then that I knew that I had to add "Profess undying love for Monday" to my list of things to do before I die. So here I am, Klutz, asking you Goddess of the Town of Odyssey to have me at hello. You're the best! Never die!

The last option in this poll reads "College? What do you mean college? I ain't goin' to no stupid college? (*hopes no one [seriously] picks this option*)." I must take issue with that.
Everyone must make their own decision -- midst prayer and seeking the advice of others whose opinion they hold in high esteem, of course -- about where, or even if, they will go to college. In recent years, a college education has become more important than ever, with many positions that in years past required no higher education now requiring at least some upper level training (perhaps a certificate, at least, if not baccalaureate), but there are still a significant number of vocations that do not require this, and it is not anyone's place to judge a person on whether or not they go to college, or what manner of career they choose (within the bounds of ethics and Christian morality, of course).
I will be returning for my sophomore year at an undergraduate institution this autumn, and it is at least possible that I will continue my education after I receive my bachelor's degree, but that's not for everyone. How can you say that you hope"no one [seriously] picks this option [not attending college]"? That is a valid, legitimate and entirely proper choice for many people, and it ought not be belittled.

For the college, however, I'm not sure yet.

I'd like to attend a Christian College, but I'll probably go to public or online.
I forget who, but someone above said something about Community Colleges...........Community / Junior colleges are usually public.
Peace Out

Thank you so much for that, Zedekiah! It is very true that a lot of people think that it's automatically God's will for everyone to go to college, although that is definitely not true!Zedekiah wrote:The last option in this poll reads "College?
