Some things I did over the Summer

A description of some of the things you did

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Some things I did over the Summer

Post by Arla »

I know summer isn't techically over yet, but with the start of school it feels like it is. So list what you did with yourself big or small.
I went on vacation to Gettysburg, PA and Hershey Park.
I painted a bird house. (I know, not exactly the most exciting thing in the world.
I sat aound alot and read.
I listen to baseball games on the radio.
I cleaned out my closet. (Not a small task I assure you.)
I pet my cat.
I rode my bike about a million times. And I still will do so.
I helped my sister rearrange her bed room.
Ate ice cream.
Made chocolate chip muffins.
Spent time wishing the days would stop flying by.
Just smell those burning leaves, the warm baked bread, and the hot apple cider. Ahhh.

Woot for biking!

This summer I worked on average about 41 hours a week. Every now and then I got sent to another store in the company, so I got more experience and references and what not.

I also spent a lot of time with friends, did some biking. Me and my friends were working on a filming project (which, and this frustrates me, we unfortunately did not finish -_-;).

And my car got stolen three weeks ago this Sat. That was a fun day. We got it back and it's currently being repaired (I haven't driven in over two weeks--I'm beginning to have withdrawals ;) ).

I went down to Texas for a National Speech Tournament.
I went from Texas to Colorado for summer Bible camp.
I went back home. (it took four days of driving to get home)
I went down to Alabama for a wedding.
I was in a play (The Matchmaker)
I was in a movie (Still in the making right now)
I took knitting lessons (I have a shawl, slipper, and hat done, I started 3 weeks ago)
I have gotten a cold, and a sore throat.
I also got an iPod.
I also went to Focus on the Family and got a new AIO.

Sadly, that sounds a lot like my summer as well. ;) However, I did go shopping and to some movies, and the beach (even though I don't like the beach) and I also went to the zoo (yay!) so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

The guy who stole the car was using it to steal stereos from other cars. I'm not sure how the cops came across him, but whatever happened resulted in a 90 second chase, which ended when the guy curbed it. This was days later. I then had to get the car out of the impound lot (not a fun place to visit). It's still being repaired, and the guy is being charged for it.

edit-I also helped a friend move, come to think of it.

haha, you're not the first person to say that to me ;) Not a very steal-worthy car, it would seem.

I went to work for my Uncle for a month in Walla Walla
I went to see Brandon Heath and got him to sign my CD of his
I went to Hawaii and didn't like it.
I missed an earthquake by an hour, a hurricane by a day.
I worked on my tree farm, or my parents tree farm
I saw my friends
I started school
I get to go to a Casting Crowns concert on October 5th, but that doesn't mean it's summer.
I wrote story after story, and accomplished finishing writing "No Escape"

That was my summer.

Hey, everything worked out well for Eugene, so I wouldn't worry about it. ;) One of our cars is a bit older too, and we like to think that it's a good way to avoid theft issues, but apparently that isn't good enough to keep your car safe anymore. :(

I need to ask where in Hawaii you were and why you didn't like it.
