I don't really follow swimming, but there's always somebody retiring and somebody else coming up behind them that will do well. That's the way sport is a lot of the time.
He was really well known in the 2004 Olympics in Athens and got a lot of press coverage as well as American swimmer Michael Phelps. But ya i was sad when i heard that Ian retired cause he is only like 24

You'd think he would go for another 2 Olympics, then retire. Maybe he had other reasons besides "oh, I'm not motivated to win anymore."
