Facing The Giants

Post by Macnut »

Facing The Giants is a movie made by a Church in Georgia. It's about the football team of a Christian Hish School. I saw it today. It was really good.

If you need to see something spiritually uplifting, this is a great movie!

Have you seen it? What'd you think?

I've heard about it, and I saw a trailer for it a while ago, but I haven't seen the actual movie. I'm not the biggest football movie person, but it looked like it might be decent. After your recommendation, I would like to see it sometime! \:D/ It might be a while, though.

A group from my church was going, but the nearest showing is in Richmond, which is a ways from where I live. :(

I saw it about a month ago because my dad got an early look at it so he could promote it on the radio. I have to admit that I liked this movie. I'm not a big football fan, but this movie held my attention.

They made like 1.3 million on it.

I heard 2, but either way they did really good for a movie made by a Church, with mostly members of the church and filmed entirely with one camera. =D>

Actually, It's number 14 at the box office right now, and has grossed almost 3 million. The budget was $100,000. Donated entirely by members of the church. The only crew they hired was a professional DP (directory of photography).

Most films are shot with only one camera, so that bit isn't unusual at all.

YES!!! Great, awesome and absolutley wonderful! I loved it! True, it wasn't the best actors in the world, but it was real life. and, I mean, how many films get a PG rating because of the GOSPEL!!! \:D/

We saw a clip of it (the part where one of the players carried another across the field) in my New Student Orientation class, in order to inspire us to never give up. Other than that, I haven't seen it...but I'm sure I will sooner or later.

Yeah, the acting is pretty bad except the coach is decent. And the movie is really spiritually uplifting. Even if you don't like football. And the PG rating is stupid; there's nothing objectionable. It's really a family film.

it's not THAT bad...and, as I said before...the PG rating was because it was to "Jesus-y"

I can easily imagine a football film getting a PG rating just for the violence of the football. \:D/

Anyway I haven't seen it, but my parents went and saw it yesterday and said it was really good. \:D/

I haven't seen it...just read an article about it in World magazine. It was saying how the rating association rated it PG for "thematic elements," and said it was proselytizing too much. Or something to that effect.
