how hot is it there?

summer heat is awful...

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Last week it reached "record" highs of 109-110. Oh man, it was not fun. #-o

Not only was it not fun, it was awful! Especially since VBS was going on last week.
Barely Is and I had to wear long sleeves and long skirts for skits. That got really hot. :(

It reached 80 today but it felt hotter. :anxious: At least it was welcome relief from the 100-degree temperatures we had last week.

Yesterday, I poured hot coffee down the front of my shirt to cool down.
Tomorrow works for me, though.

They say it's 97 here with very high humidity and another chance of thunder storms. It is just plain hot!

Here's a good idea for those people without AC units. Take a cold shower once out, put something loose and airy on, then fill up a small bucket or bowl with cold water from the faucet and then take several handfuls of ice and then dip your hands in and just saturate your face and feet. It keeps the body temp down. Also, wet a small hand towel and place it on the back of your neck and allow it to sit there. It'll also keep your body from over heating. :)

Thanks for the tip... \:D/

it's a good one, but a bit of a bother... I just may try that if I get desperate.

It's only 80 right now. The last two weeks were pretty bad, high 90's.
Even with AC, I make everyone in the house take a cold, rinse-off shower before bed. You sleep so much better.

Yep. But then again...after 4-5 months of pure rain...it gets pretty dreary.

The Monsoon rocks! \:D/

We've gotten heavy downpours the last two evenings.

If you want to escape the summer heat, move here to Arizona! \:D/

Yeah, Mexico is even wetter and colder... :(

/me wants to move to Mexico so he can experience the *real* Mexican Monsoon, rather than just the northern fringe of it. ;-)
