If it is legit, I question the marketing decision to release the news on April Fools' Day. Especially when they don't have the most stellar reputation with their fans at the moment.

The Reddit community is speculating that it might be based on a Nancy Drew book called "April Fool's Day," which has a tech-related plot. Her Interactive has also cleared all the posts off their Instagram except for this one, so it does seem like it could be broader in scope than just a prank. Maybe?
The way they're promoting this game is actually quite clever. They've been releasing puzzle teasers on their social media, which is definitely rallying all the fans together. I don't know what to expect, and with the original team long gone, I doubt we'll ever get another game that feels like the traditional ones. But that hasn't stopped my hopes from getting unreasonably high!

Has anyone gotten to play it yet? I'm waiting for my physical copy to get here, so it will probably be another month or so for me.

Alas, we were never able to get our physical copy of Mystery of the Seven Keys—a highly specific yet tragic combination of a stolen/canceled credit card and the weird pre-order situation on Digital River.
Unless physical copies are very important to you, I strongly recommend purchasing games through Steam rather than Her Interactive, which is what we ended up doing.

My sister and I just played it over the weekend, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a little rough around the edges and you can tell it's the creator's first release, but it's made with love and has the Nancy Drew vibes. It's also shorter/easier than a standard Nancy Drew game, so if $20 feels a little steep, you may want to wait until it goes on sale, but I recommend it!
