What books are you reading?

In the same vein as movie/music threads...

"Books? You want books?! Ha! We've got books on hairy otters, on onions and on mars! All the fungus you could care for, plus, three triple zillion stars. I love the Left Behind series. \:D/ My favorite character is Abdullah.
Buck was much, MUCH better :x
Agreed. Spoiler warning:
Buck's *ahem* scene in Armageddon was the most emotional I've ever gotten reading a book. I cried my eyes out.
I know, right?
Spoiler!
I was like, "NOO BUCK YOU CAN'T DIE NOW! JESUS IS COMING!" and then I cried =P I don't think any other scene, no matter who died, was that good. The only one which came close was Chloe's.
Dude, you're bringing it all back. >_> Spoilers, people. You don't want to read this until you read the book.
I knew ahead of time that Chloe was going to die, so it didn't affect me as much. Like you said, I was like "NOOO!!" about Buck. His death was so... painful. Plus, I had seen the movie(s) ahead of time, and so I was imagining Kirk Cameron dying. ;)
Sorry, JJ =P
True. .and which movies 'ahead of time'? And by that time, it won't be Kirk on the screens. .he'd be too old. Regardless, even though he shows up again soon, Buck's death always is emotional. *sigh*

I love Left Behind! I read all the kids ones when I was younger, and I've read almost all of the adult ones.

I've read the Left Behind kid books, and skimmed through the adult ones. I have listened to the dramatic audio of each of them though; those are really good

Anyway, I'm not really reading anything at the moment. But for school, I will probably start reading books for different classes.

Surprised by Joy, by C. S. Lewis.

I also downloaded Paradise Lost on my Kindle (hey, it's free) so we'll see how far I get. It's actually quite interesting so far.

I finished Love Finds You in Folly Beach South Carolina, it was excellent. I really enjoy the Love Finds You series. I am now reading A Stranger's Gift by Anna Schmidt, it is the first book in her Women of Pinecraft series/trilogy. New author for me but I'm really enjoying it so far.

I'm currently reading A Lasting Impression by Tamera Alexander. I'd never heard of her before, but was recommended this author by a friend and am so far really enjoying the book. It's the first of an upcoming series, and I'm excited to read the rest!

I've read her other books and they were very good! I haven't read her new one yet.

I'm reading "The Bride Bargain" by Kelly Eileen Hake. It's a good read for fans of historical fiction. I'm not quite done yet, but it was better than I had expected so far.

I'm rereading Candy Bombers, the first of The Wall trilogy by Robert Elmer. My library has had that one only, and I've read it a couple times already. But I received all three books for my birthday, and so I wanted to refresh my memory before reading the next two.

It's a really great book. I love that most of the classics are free on kindle/nook, it encourages me to read them. \:D/

Anyways, I'm still ever so slowly working my way through Nehru's Glimpses of World History which is actually more like a texbook, but surprisingly very easy to read because it's broken into tiny, 2-3 page sections. It's a good book for someone who doesn't have the time to read significantly in one sitting (and why I had to give up midway through The Silmarillion, sadly).

Awesome! I wish I had read that in school. Unfortunately, I was a lazy student and quickly forgot everything about history that I ever learned, so I'm going back and trying to remedy it. \:D/

I'm in biography mode right now... This time it's James Madison. Interesting, but very schoolish.
