Wow, I'm a Little Slow...

Whit's wiping down the counter, Connie's mopping the floor, and the kids are sipping on their milkshakes. If you want to talk about Adventures in Odyssey the radio drama, this is the spot to do just that!

Wow, I'm a Little Slow...

Post by Destiny J. Adams »

'Kay so I feel like an idiot, I really do.

I have been listening to AIO for sixteen years, ever since I was born and probably even the nine months before that. I have heard almost all of the old ones (sadly, I'm not so up to date on the newer ones) and there a couple that I can say word for word (namely, A Name Not a Number, Small Fires Little Pools).

So, there is absolutely no excuse for not getting this: Rodney Rathbone is the leader of the Bones of Rath.

I always assumed that it was the Bones of "Wrath" and I never got that the "Bones of Rath" is "Rathbone" switched around. #-o

Feel free to laugh, my entire family is indulging themselves now. :D

Aww...That's okay, Destiny. :) It took me a few episodes to realize that too. We all let little things like that go unobserved from time to time.

I didn't really think about it until I listened to the Blackgaard Saga a few years ago, but that was when I kind of realized, "Oh, hey, The Bones of Wrath! Rathbone! How punny!" So I totally understand; I don't really catch onto things unless I think about them, and thinking is too hard.

I read this topic yesterday and I didn't even understand what you were talking about until TODAY even though I read the topic! Oh my goodness. I've listened to these episodes for such a long time and I didn't notice that, and I read this topic and I still didn't realize it. Oh man. I'm clearly not that bright.

Are you sure? 'Cause I told this from whitsend.org as one of the descriptions for one of the current episodes playing: The Israelites clean up the Bones of Rath hideout, Lucy Cunningham-Schultz is kidnapped and pressed for information by Jellyfish, and Glossman finally succeeds in shutting down Whit's End. You could be right though, I don't know...

It is actuall Bones of Rath It says on the official site and on the odyssey albums, because the beginning of Rodneys last name and the word Wrath sound alike, it confuses people.

Or else Reddo has been very busy for the last year trying to stay out of debt, helping out with at church, designing a satellite that's going into space in 2013, taking more than the recommend course load in university, moving and getting married. :)

Yeah, i've been busy the last year and haven't had time to be on the wiki as much as I'd have liked to, but this is my last full time semester of classes, so I should be around more in January, there's a number of ideas I have for it but just haven't had time.

We don't want to hear excuses, Reddo! :noway:

....But yours are pretty good. ;) Congratulations on your marriage and other notable achievements!

As for the Bones of Rath, I think it's one of those things that you can hear so often that you don't think about it. I first heard it when I was a kid, so it took me a while to "get it" as well.

I got the whole Bones of Rath bit right off. :- Because I knew Rodney wasn't the brightest crayon in the box, if you know what I mean..
