Whit's wiping down the counter, Connie's mopping the floor, and the kids are sipping on their milkshakes. If you want to talk about Adventures in Odyssey the radio drama, this is the spot to do just that!
Having the odd sense of Humor I have I was referring to the odd facts that people have been mentioning, like his fathers middle name was Cathcart and was a shipyard worker
Eugene-"Well, the sequence of events occured with extreme rapidity, but I shall attempt to recall them. I was powering my two-wheeler along this concrete pathway, when your personnage suddenly appeared directly in front of me blocking my course. My reflexes immediately sprang to life in an attempt to navigate an evasive manouveur around you while still maintaining course and speed, but I evidently over-compensated, and my Schwinn careened off the hardened path, taking me with it, and up-ended us both in this shrub, a Rhododendron of the heath family I believe, deducing from the leathery evergreen leaves, as distinguished from the deciduous Azalea, which as we all know is..."

But wait a second. Angus Young was a guitarist for AC/DC... o_0
So is this what Jack Allen does in the back room of J&J Antiques?!

It's a secret passion he has. While pretending to be kind, mild-mannered Jack Allen living in the quiet small town of Odyssey, he is actually Ronald Angus, going on frequent concert tours playing death metal music for screaming psychotic fans.
It explains his long absences from Odyssey, you see.

You can hear many of his shows on www.otrcat.com. also, the tag line for the alan young show was the 'man who is forever young'. He certainly lived up to that. I'm glad he was included in Darien's Rise, but wonder what will happen if they continue the series. I like the new whit, but can't see a new jack as well. That's just too much change.
Since they aren't doing a new Tom, they probably wouldn't do a new Jack. And I think the only people to survive the relaunch are Connie, Eugene, Wooton, and a small portion of Whit.

Katrina did, even if she's not all that big of a character, she's still a main one, as is Harlow.

I had the great pleasure of interviewing Alan Young five years ago. He taped 1/2 hour-long phone interview with me about his career. We only briefly touched on Odyssey— this was during that long period where he wasn't on the show, and he seemed to wonder why he hadn't been called in to do any episodes recently. After the interview, he chatted with me for about 15 or 20 minutes and I've got to say that he is a genuinely nice man! Very humble and down-to-earth. His manager even contacted me to let me know how much Alan enjoyed our conversation— something that rarely happens in the radio business! For a brief time, they even had a link to the interview on his official website!
Also, I thought everyone might be interested to know this: after the interview, he thanked me for mentioning Adventures in Odyssey. He told me that he is more proud of his work with Focus with the Family than anything else in his career He must have been very pleased when they brought him back.
take care,
Joe
ps; if anyone wants to hear the interview, I'll try and upload it for you.
