The King's Speech

As a public speaker with a stutter this movie hit very close to home.

Last night my brother, sister and I were browsing the interwebs looking for quality entertainment. I searched through Disney's movies and found Holes. It was fantastic! The movie has a high rating on IMDb, and I can see why. The characters, acting, set locations, and most especially—the plot—was top notch.

It also included a scene that scared me more than any other scene in my life. I froze in fear. :anxious: But am over it now. \:D/

Holes
A, or 8.8/10

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. It was okay but strayed way too far from the original books.
It's been awhile, hasn't it?

The movie is really good, and so is the book. The author, Louis Sachar, was quite involved in the movie process, which is why I think it turned out so well. I haven't read the book recently, but if you liked the movie, I think you would appreciate the book as well. He's written some funny books too - look for the Sideways Stories from Wayside School books if you're looking for something funny and light!

Both of these sound like marvelous choices to me! \:D/

Yesterday I watched Mulan for the first time in a while. I'm still recovering from my recent wisdom teeth removal, so I had my eyes closed through a bunch of it, but I still really enjoyed it. I know what happens anyway. ;) The only problem is that it was too funny - smiling hurts, not to mention laughing. :(

Bella. We don't watch movies but they played it on the bus trip to Wasington DC. It was very moving. Excellent pro-life film.

I watched Voyage of the Dawn Treader again on Sunday. MAN, I love that movie SO MUCH! I didn't cry at all the first time, but I was definitely welling up the second time. Of course, my friend was crying because she's in love with Caspian, and assuming the Silver Chair is not made, this is the last time we see him. :-

An American Carol. It does have serious language, but it hits a point home about the freedoms we have.
