Odyssey + the Real World

Whit's wiping down the counter, Connie's mopping the floor, and the kids are sipping on their milkshakes. If you want to talk about Adventures in Odyssey the radio drama, this is the spot to do just that!

You know, Jerry Houser also played the talking toaster in Focus' Secret Adventures video series.
Yay, finally somebody else who remembers those videos! \:D/ Yes, I loved him as the talking toaster. Good times!

Ooh, which one? \:D/
Season 6, episode 11 - "The Grim Reaper." He's a patient. I haven't watched that episode in a while, so I don't remember why he's there or anything, but he has a decent part, I think. More than just one scene, anyway. ;)

Yep! I actually heard him on that show before I had heard an Odyssey with him in it, so when I heard him in Odyssey, I was like, "Hey, that voice sounds familiar..."

Also, my dad sent me this video yesterday. It has Hal Smith as both the robber and the announcer.

Thanks for the video, EMBEE! :D I can't remember if I've seen that commercial before, but hearing and seeing Hal Smith is always a treat!

My church has been doing a series called "Approval Junkie" and we have a skit before the sermon which leads into what we're going to hear about. So last Sunday, in the skit, there was a button (it looked like an Easy Button) that one guy would press and it would say stuff like, "You're awesome." or "You're cool." Immediately, I thought of the episode from the Truth Chronicles with the toy Affirmus. I think it's the one called In Your Image.
They say all roads lead to Rome, and all roads lead through Indiana. But I say that in the world of Odyssey, all roads lead to Novacom.

We have an Easy button in my math classroom--there's this one nerd who keeps pressing it everyday and it always goes, "Well, that was easy." We used to get annoyed by it, but now we're like, "Oh, that's just him on the Easy button" and we roll our eyes and turn back around because, when you think about it, it's not really that funny if you keep doing it over and over and over again.

The word 'diaphanous' was in a story I had to read in English class today. It made me chuckle.

The other day we were watching a behind the scenes video about Disney's Peter Pan movie, and we noticed that Corey Burton was the one narrating the video.

That made me curious. I looked up Cars 2, and found this on Wikipedia:
However Doc Hudson was voiced by Corey Burton in Cars Race-O-Rama. No confirmation has been made if Burton will be his new replacement or if Doc will be written out of the sequel.
That'd be cool to have Corey Burton in a Pixar film. \:D/

But as a big Pixar fan too, his voice would just be too familiar to play Doc. He'd sound too much like Corey Burton, but sadly, probably not all that much like Doc.

I just realised reading on AIO Wiki about Darien's Rise that King Lawrence's daughter Princess Mary is married to Prince Fredrick of Albany, this really piqued my interest because there is a real life Princess Mary married to a Prince Frederik (slightly different spelling of Fredrick though).

Halfway through the movie What About Bob?, Bill Murray gets off a bus, and everyone cheers. (Eugene did likewise in First-Hand Experience.)

Also, in the old TV-movie Ma and Pa Kettle At Home, their son writes an entry in a national magazine's contest about his farm. He is only doing it as a class assignment, so he exxagerates everything about his farm. The judges choose him and another family nearby as finalists, and the Kettles decide to make their farm look like the contest entry. In the end, the judges find out about all their shenanigans. (This nearly-exact storyline took place with the Rathbones/Johnsons in Family Values.)

Oh, and Jess Harnell, Corey Burton and Townsend Coleman will all be voicing characters (robots?) in Transformers 3. Not that I care about the movie... \:D/
