How often do you take Communion?
Because of the differing backgrounds and spiritual beliefs here, I'm curious of how often my fellow ToOers take communion? Is it something your church does all the time, sometimes, or never? At the church my family is a part of, we have it approximately every 3 months ("occasionally"). I wish it was more often, though.
What about you?

Every week. In the New Testament, one of the main reasons Christians gathered together was to break bread, right up there with prayer and the apostles' teaching. No reason we should not do the same today!
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. ♡
The church does it once a month, and I'm OK with that. I've been to a church that does it weekly.

Jesus: "And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you..."
John: "Jesus, this bread is atrocious!"
Jesus: "Taste is not what matters. ...this do in remembrance of me."
You have to read between the lines sometimes.

That depends on how you interpret "breaking bread". In 1st century times, that was often simply a phrase used to refer to eating a meal. On the other hand, when Jesus said "as often as you do this, do it in remembrance of me", the "do this" was a reference to Passover.
That being said, my church does it once a month. lol I don't really know why, but it's not a bad thing however you do it.
My church does it once a month too! (Or maybe 2 times a month... but at least once a month.)Irwin wrote:Once a month.
Has anyone ever had gluten-free bread? It's awful.
I have had gluten-free bread. It can be bad, but if you use a variety of different non-gluten flours when you make it it tastes much better. I've had some bread that almost tastes like normal bread.
My church has gluten-free rice crackers during communion if you are gluten intolerant.

The Catholic church does it weekly because of their religion. With the confessionals weekly, they must take communion to further reconcile themselves to God. (my dad's side of the family was Catholic, so I pick on it a bit. )
We do it... Monthly? Every six weeks? Usually. We haven't had it in a while cause the youth (we do our own so we don't disrupt by walking back into the sanctuary) have been here and there, and there've been guest speakers, etc. But normally every six weeks, I think.

Love you always, SnC
