My money supply is not endless, but I am well provided for. Yes, the MP3s I bought were "The Basket of Flowers." You don't have a choice because the CDs won't be available until November 20. So you either buy the MP3s or wait until next month for the CDs. I will buy the CDs at some point because I am a firm believer in back up copies, but the MP3s are easier to put on the iPod.Chandler wrote:Clearly this was revived because this thread was locked. Thank you, Tyler.
So were the MP3's you bought, Laurie, from "The Basket of Flowers"? I repeat from the other thread: Wow... you have an endless money supply, Laurie. I wish I could buy things like that.

You're going to buy the CD (for $20) when you already spent $15 on the MP3s? You do have an endless money supply!Laurie wrote:My money supply is not endless, but I am well provided for. Actually, it was more than $15 because I goofed up while downloading the first part and had to buy them a second time to get Pt 2. I'm not a computer genius.Trent DeWhite wrote:You're going to buy the CD (for $20) when you already spent $15 on the MP3s? I'm sure the tech support would help you out with that if you would've dropped them an email.
I will keep that in mind next time.Art Vandelay wrote:I'm sure the tech support would help you out with that if you would've dropped them an email.

You're so casual about this stuff, Trent! Laurie's hardcore: she's going to pay $34 to get the CDs and the book! Only n00bs would order just the CDs.Trent DeWhite wrote:You're going to buy the CD (for $20) when you already spent $15 on the MP3s? You do have an endless money supply!

Or you could buy the CD and rip it to MP3 for almost half the price.Boswell wrote:You're so casual about this stuff, Trent! Laurie's hardcore: she's going to pay $34 to get the CDs and the book! Yes I know that, but when I rip the CDs to put them on my iPod the episodes are out of sequence. I don't want them on my iPod that way, so I buy the MP3s and since they go on the iPod in the correct sequence it saves me trouble and time. Plus, the CDs are not going to be available until late November. Why wait for the CDs when I can have the MP3s to listen to now? And yes I know I could listen to them online, but I'd rather not be chained to my computer for however long it would take me to listen.Trent DeWhite wrote:Or you could buy the CD and rip it to MP3 for almost half the price.Boswell wrote:You're so casual about this stuff, Trent! Oh, you don't need to explain, Laurie. I understand.
I was just explaining my n00b rationale to Boswell.

Those of us on tighter budgets would just have to wait for the CD's to come out and then do the work of ripping them and placing them in the right order ourselves.
Just thought I would let anyone who is interested know that the MP3s for the newest Lamplighter drama "Charlie's Choice" are available for purchase and download.

I have listened to the first three dramas (Sir Malcolm and the Missing Prince, The Basket of Flowers, and Charlie's Choice), and have fallen completely in love with this radio drama! All of them were an exciting rollercoaster ride, especially The Basket of Flowers and Charlie's Choice, and have solid messages which are woven into the period stories. Lamplighter Theatre has a Radio Theatre feel to it (a number of RT actors--Phillip Sherlock, Finty Williams, and Elizabeth Counsell, for example--are heard in the shows recorded in London) and John Campbell has done some amazing music to complement the drama. If you enjoyed the RT adaptations of classic books, like Silas Marner or Billy Budd, then you'll just as much like LT.
Up next for dramatization are "The Captive," "The Hedge of Thorns," and the short story "The Unexpected Return." But you guys have to support this radio drama if you want to hear more! It's expensive to make ($132,000 per four-episode [100 minute] story), but it's great entertainment and teaching that I hope can continue on.

I am totally in love with Lamplighter Theatre! Jess is amazing! The role seems perfect for him . It's like half wooton/half whit and all Jess!

Grrr!
I listened to the first two parts of the Sir Malcom story and now I'm hooked!
Why do I have to be such a media addict?

I'm curious, what's the Lamplighter Theatre about anyway? what's the story?

Till the end of the line.
Just thought I would let anyone who is interested know that the MP3s for Lamplighter Theater's newest drama "The Captive" are now available for purchase and download.

I haven't heard the first one yet - I gave the CDs to Watson for Christmas but just haven't gotten around to listening to them myself yet. From the website, it looks like they're hoping to dramatize several more in the next few months - including one of my favorite books of theirs, A Peep Behind the Scenes.

And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. ♡
