Talk to the Paw

Post by Shadowpaw »

Ladies and gentlemen, as my Christmas gift to you, I have returned to the Town of Odyssey!!!

...

Just kidding. That's a terrible gift. And I can't promise I can stay long (let's just say I've got a temporary visa and could be deported at any moment).

Anyway, this holiday season, my real gift (which is also debatable as a "gift", since it has no intrinsic value) is that after reading over a wonderful interview with my good friend Fenix (posted three months ago... from three years ago... maybe it's old news but it's new to me!) I'm willing to do an open forum of sorts here. It's been three years since I left the board and three years since Regis Blackgaard took over the town. The time for the veil of secrecy regarding actions behind the scenes during the story arc is long since past and I'm more than willing to answer any and all questions you guys have had over the years regarding the process. Now, since I didn't actually talk this over with anyone and this thread is entirely impulsive, I'm not going to name names, but I will go into as much detail as you'd like regarding MY perspective on any of the story arcs I was involved in including changes to the story and anything else you can think of.

I realize that's a lot to ask for something that happened three+ years ago... and even I don't remember every detail. But I think we've got an archives around here that you can look into to jog your memory and I'll keep checking back to this thread as often as possible and provide you with thorough (and hopefully insightful) answers to your questions. We'll keep this just like an open forum, not unlike the "Questions for Shadowpaw" or the more contemporary "Questions for Catspaw" threads.

And if you have no idea what I'm talking about and have no idea who I am... well, you probably didn't miss much and it's nice to meet you! :)

For everyone else, hit me with some tough ones!

Shadowpaw

PS (Anything non-story arc related is totally cool too... ToO, AIOSoda, real life, etc... anything you've ever wanted to know... now is the time to ask!)

PPS Can a mod or admin make this a global announcement or anything like that? :anxious:

Thanks Termite! This was just a test to see if people were abusing their power and you failed.

Sorry. I can't back you up on this.

;) Haha. No seriously thanks alot and if anyone gives you trouble I will feel bad for myself and make Gabriel Dragsack and Davari Hassan (I think? Was that seriously his name...) destroy the board again.

Unfortunately with most of the people on this board they would probably consider that to be exciting and encourage such destructive behavior!

Great question. The situation drives me crazy. After the Colorado Live Show last year, I came home with this renewed interest in the Soda Fountain and started working on completely redesigned / re-envisioned site. I actually built something pretty cool... you could log in using your Town of Odyssey account which you could then use to update notes/trivia/etc... as well as comment on my "news" threads. I re-did all my images, developed 54 logos (every album had a unique site logo) and finished the news sections and the albums section. I got sidetracked with work/school/plays and had to completely abandon the project. In March I finally found the time sit down and pick up where I left off... it was impossible. The organization of the back end code was NOT organized at all, like I had thought it was. It was a mess and I know I would need to start from scratch again if I wanted to do it.

I've attached an image of what the prototype looked like... the highlighted area is what happens when the mouse hovers over an episode title.

It was really cool and the integration with the ToO was fantastic and a dream I've always had. But unless I can get a lot of free time off, I just don't know if I'll ever get a chance to do it. Especially with sites like AIOWiki, which does pretty much everything I've wanted in an AIO website.

I work full-time doing computer related things (fixing machines, building software, managing our telecommunications, implementing intranets, etc... ). I've been doing it for 4 and a half years now with the same company, so I'm finally getting good at it. ;) I still have an evening University class that I take to finish up my Computer Science degree and I will graduate as of June 2010!

Shadowpaw...Shadowpaw. :-k Nope, the name doesn't ring a bell. Say hello to the deportation committee! :hello:

Oh wait, I remember you. You kidnapped me and put a paper bag over my head on my birthday. :x And I think there was a smiley face on the paper bag. That might have been when I refused to hand over my TA-418, though I can't recall for sure. And so I must ask the question that so many people have wondered for so long...why are you so mean? :mecry:

Also, welcome (temporarily/conditionally) back and thanks for letting us Talk to the Paw once more!

May we see a photo of your "visa," may I inquire?

Would you please summarize in five paragraphs or less the entire activity of the takeover you mentioned?

That might have been when I refused to hand over my TA-418, though I can't recall for sure. And so I must ask the question that so many people have wondered for so long...why are you so mean? :mecry:

Davari Hassan was awesome.

Hahaha, speaking of kidnapping, is hakebar still around or mr.whit? Those were the days! You were super stubborn on that TA-418... but so was everyone else. No one did what I wanted them to do for the storyline so I had to adapt and start causing more havoc!

Haha, unfortunately my visa features the latest in security enhancements: it is invisible.

As for your question, I can do so but I need a bit more direction. There's two parts to the story. There's the story that everyone witnessed transpire in front of them and there's the story that happened behind the scenes... which aspect of the "activity" would you like to hear? (My question being: do you want a summary of what happened s everyone is up to speed? Or a summary of what I did behind the scenes?) Because it'll probably take a lot longer than 5 paragraphs to tell the story properly.

Hopefully one day!

Only most? Not all? Haha. You've probably heard that I'm mean. A lie that Catspaw continues to perpetuate. And JesusFreak. And Monday. And pretty much anyone who's met me in person.

But they're all wrong!!! O:)

Thanks for all the welcomes and I love seeing so many user names I've never seen before with huge post counts!

Don't feel bad, I'm sure it's just a security measure on her part to make sure that she stays in power. ;) What am I saying?? PANIC!!
For a minute there I thought the word "person" was "prison". :-

That's how much we managed to spam before Catspaw caught us. \:D/ (lol jk)

Yeah, he really was! \:D/

No, sadly, hakeber hasn't been online in a long time. :( Mr.whit is still on now and then, though not recently. :( Hopefully one or both of them will be on soon as see this thread and realize that they are missed! \:D/ What can I say? I'm a stubborn person! We all enjoyed being stubborn and standing up for what was right...until you stole our cool stuff from us and turned them over to the bad guys. :x

Also, whenever anybody says "haha" I think of you. Fondly.

Heads up, folks. Mean people lie about other people lying. ;) But really, Shadowpaw is mean. It's one of his best qualities, and I think that Monday/Manda (if not JF) will agree with me that it's part of his tremendous appeal! :inlove:
