If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!
The latest installment of my series of threads on foods is about hotdogs. Yes, I spell hotdog as one word because I dislike compound nouns (multiple words with different meanings if used separately).
What condiments do you put on your hotdogs? Most people I know put ketchup and mustard on theirs. A few will put relish, chili, cheese, onions, and/or coleslaw. The most unusual condiment I have personally seen a person eat is peanut butter.
What types of unusual hotdogs or condiments have you seen or tried? What did you think of them? How many have you eaten in one continuous session?

Unusual hotdogs: Vienna sausages in a hotdog bun, a tinned sardine in a hot dog bun, a slice of tofu in a hot dog bun.
Unusual condiments: dried pequin chiles sprinkled over the dogs, braunschweiger spread on the buns, sauerkraut, salsa on the dogs with the crumbs from an almost empty tortilla chips bag sprinkled thereupon, tartar sauce, ants--because I was too lazy once to removed the ants that had gotten into some of the ingredients so I just included them even though they aren't kosher because I figured the pig isn't kosher either so it won't really matter.
I like chilli cheese dogs! Come to think of it, I like chilli cheese everything.
Hot dogs aren't my favorite, but I'll eat them. I will not, however eat tofu dogs (bad experience at a friend's house) or veggie dogs (never, EVER boil them if you want to keep your appetite).
I like it exactly as the picture suggests! Sometimes chili on top is good, but I've only had that 1-2 times.

Our family usually buys chicken hotdogs...Gwaltney Great Dogs.
Where else are you going to put ketchup if not on a hotdog? I thought basically everyone put ketchup on their hotdogs!
I hadn't eaten hotdogs for almost a year I think, maybe longer, until 9/9/09 when we got them for free at school, because the Maple Leaf factory got poisoned or something and my family was all paranoid about meat.
Yeah I thought OVERALL people put the same stuff on hotdogs and burgers... >_>
Ordinarily I just put ketchup and mustard on cause thats convenient and tastes good.
But there is something especially awesome about chili cheese hotdogs... we make that at home rarely but usually I just get them at Speedway cause thats cheap and convenient.

Word to the wise: Don't ever eat a hotdog with only mustard. Ketchup and mustard on a hotdog, however...
That's the way that I almost always eat hotdogs - with just mustard. Yummy! I really like mustard, and I don't like ketchup or relish or onions or most of the other things that people put on hotdogs. When I was younger I used to eat them plain, with nothing extra at all, but then I decided that it was yummier with mustard. So I try no unusual condiments, unlike some of the people here.
