New Radio Drama: Lamplighter Theatre
New Radio Drama: Lamplighter Theatre
Has any one heard of this yet? It's a new radio drama called Lamplighter Theatre. Here is their homepage where you can read more: http://www.lamplighterpublishing.com/sirmalcolm.html.
What makes it really interesting is that it is produced by many people from AIO! Including Marshall Younger, John Campbell, Mark Drury, John Fornof, and Bob Hoose. Also to make it even better, some of the actors in this series are very familiar to AIO listeners. Jess Harnell plays an odd book collector named Finnian Jones; and Adam Wylie (who was heard in The Last Chance Detectives and The Truth Chronicles) plays the young Prince Hubert in their first story "Sir Malcolm and the Missing Prince".
I have listened to the first two episodes and they seem really excellent! They have the same great quality as AIO and Radio Theatre. Your thoughts?

That is very interesting, to say the least. I've seen the Lamplighter books for sale (with those cool covers, they're hard to miss!) and have read a few of them, including this one that they've dramatized. It seems kind of an odd choice to me but I look forward to seeing what else they produce!

Oh, I haven't heard of this! How neat! I have many Lamplighter books, and I actually JUST finished reading Sir Malcom.
I'll definitely have to check it out.

Awesomeness! I definitely have to check this out. I'm not familiar with Lamplighter at all, but this sounds very intriguing.
And welcome to the ToO, Vlipvlop.

I'm almost positive I heard about this this summer. I haven't actually heard the drama (or read the books), but I too am interested in checking them out!
...and John Rhys-Davies is the host!

Okay, I'm totally in!
Library, here I come! I'm surprised I haven't heard about this before.

Apparently my local radio station is airing this every Saturday. I look forward to listening.

I have faith in our Odyssey people that I already placed an order. Radio drama is definitely my downfall...

Let us know how it turns out. I adore all of Focus's dramatizations, and can you really go wrong when this one was produced by an entirely Odyssey-related team?Jacob Isom wrote:I have faith in our Odyssey people that I already placed an order. Radio drama is definitely my downfall...

I ordered it as well. I figure you can't go wrong. Besides it never hurts to try something new. Who knows, I might actually like it.

I received mine today!! I've listened to part of it and it is very good so far. Reminds me of Radio Theater.

It was a very good story with good music, sound design, etc. If you like Jess Harnell he's in there too. Adam Wylie, voice of Ryan Cummings in "The Truth Chronicles" and Mike Fowler in "The Last Chance Detectives" audio dramas, makes an appearance in one of the lead roles, too.Laurie wrote:I received mine today!! Did you just resurrect a month-old topic, Tyler?
It was not for nothing, however! For I, dear friends, have discovered* that the second Lamplighter Theatre production is already available for download (CDs coming soon)! Get all the details about The Basket of Flowers now!
*Even if you already knew, nobody on this board has mentioned it, so nyah.

Clearly this was revived because this thread was locked. Thank you, Tyler.
So were the MP3's you bought, Laurie, from "The Basket of Flowers"? I repeat from the other thread: Wow... you have an endless money supply, Laurie. I wish I could buy things like that.
