His Dark Materials
I really love this series, at first I was bored with it, but now I love it so much. It's really exciting, I'm nearly finished with the Subtle Knife. Just post your wonderful little comments here, most likely against His Dark Materials and Philip Pullman, but who knows, mabye there is a fan here besides me. lol

Peri: Do you mean the TARDIS is malfunctioning again?
The Doctor: Malfunctioning? [pause] Malfunctioning? MALFUNCTIONING!?

I've had the Golden compass for forever, but haven't finished it yet. Good story...and if he's trying to be overtly anti-God, he's not doing a good job yet. I've heard that the main bad guy's name in later books is Yahweh? If that's true, that's rediculous.
Using God's personal name? Atheists are getting extreme. Militant.

Phillp Pullman's Website wrote:His Dark Materials seems to be against organised religion. Do you believe in God?
I don't know whether there's a God or not. Nobody does, no matter what they say. I think it's perfectly possible to explain how the universe came about without bringing God into it, but I don't know everything, and there may well be a God somewhere, hiding away.
Actually, if he is keeping out of sight, it's because he's ashamed of his followers and all the cruelty and ignorance they're responsible for promoting in his name. If I were him, I'd want nothing to do with them.
I'm sorry, Phil!

If you truly agree with Mr. Pullman about the church, then you haven't met much of the church.jasonjannajerryjohn wrote:No, not to describe myself, but to describe the church in general. lol.Jugglah wrote:Not to describe yourself, I hope.jasonjannajerryjohn wrote:lol, I love that quote, I'm gonna use it sometime.

Don't judge "THE CHURCH" by the American church. And don't judge the American church by the few CHristians who make it into the news, etc.Dr. Watson wrote:If you truly agree with Mr.
Christians the world over are dying to self and living for Christ everyday. And literally dying for Christ as well.
