Running, Biking, Hiking, etc.

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Running, Biking, Hiking, etc.

Post by Danadelfos »

Yay for outdoor things! I've found that I've been spending alot of time outside lately. I've been running for four months, and have two races planned of 9 miles and 8 miles each. And, we've done some biking, one of which was a 30 mile bike ride. \:D/ And, we also did some hiking during the summer up a couple mountains. So, I'm sort of reminiscing about the summer outdoor fun things to do.

What do you enjoy doing outside? :-

I express similar sentiments to those posted by the user above me. I also greatly enjoy running, but I have very little stamina. I also enjoy hiking with friends, but hiking by myself is boring.

I like running, and hiking, and I wish I had a bike. I can't say that I enjoy exercising, because I'm just not that type of person (like, I would never frequent a gym), but I do like being outside, especially this time of year.

Oh, and because of gas prices, my dad has decided that we will walk to and from church on Wednesdays (not Sundays, thankfully. I told him that heels don't do too well with actual walking. I suppose he took my word for it), so I'm outside even more than usual.

Surfing to rock climbing and everything in between...and above (forgot about jumping out of planes)!!

Really enjoy running....most I ever did was about 14 miles, but never trained for anything more. I could probably run a marathon, but just may quit out of shear boredom about 5 miles in.

I LOVE the outdoors...Here in virginia, it's an outdoor person's dream!!!!

I like to ride do anything outdoors- bike, run, walk, hike.

We live next to a place where we can go hiking, running, walking, or biking and I love it!!!!

I haven't been running or walking as much lately as I've been wanting to do. I'm going to start again real soon.

I love being outdoors!

My favorite would probably be biking. But horseback riding is incredible. \:D/

I need a bike. :(

I love running, biking, and hiking. I practically bike or run everywhere. Whether I'm running errands for my mom, to my friends' houses, or to church (at least used to), I bike or run.
I'm planning a 300+ mile bike ride next spring, not sure I'll have the time to do it though.

I may have contracted what is apparently called 14er-itis. Rather interesting, as I generally don't tend to describe myself as an outdoors person.

So yes, I find hiking enjoyable.

I started running freshman year (of college), but I haven't been very consistent in the last year and a half. As a matter of fact, my total voluntary aerobic exercise for this semester = 1 week of working out every day :anxious:

But I got up to 4 miles once... last year! \:D/

I just found out about two races (one 5K, one 7K) in the next couple months, and I'm strangely drawn to them. I wonder if, after a month of inactivity, I could get back in shape in time... :-

Anyway, I like hiking reasonably enough when I'm with friends/family who are doing it for fun, and I used to like biking too. I haven't biked in years, though, and whenever I see people biking around campus, I have a paranoid feeling that, if it were me on that bike, some catastrophe would result.

It's a little late in the season to just now catch it. ;)

Lizzie, I think you would probably be ready for them. I ran a 5k in 24:59 after a month of running. Now I'm planning on a 9 mile race in the beginning of November. \:D/

I have started walking twice a day, around my subdivision. I really enjoy it and it's easier for me than running.

Wow, that sounds like it could be a lot of fun. \:D/

Though, I would never try anything like it. :anxious:

And, heh. I like your sig. :-

In the summer, my family goes on epic bike rides- sometimes as much as 100+ miles at a time. It is very cool. In the winter, we all wish we could go on epic bike rides.

Indeed, Samwise, indeed.

...besides, I caught it more than a month ago! Ha. :]

What about prepping for a 7k in a few days? ;)

I ran the other day for the first time in a long time, and it was pretty much amazing. One good thing about the cold weather is that it is refreshing instead of freezing after a hard work-out.
