Pastors

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

Pastors

Post by Over the Rainbow »

It seems that quite a few of you are pastors' children or are related to a pastor or studying to become one. My father and his brother are pastors, how about y'all?

I am not currently employed by a church, however I am actually and truely an ordained minister.

My brother is as well though he works a regular job and just teaches Sunday school classes and fills in at his church.

Meh it's hardly that exciting. My long days in seminary aren't all that interesting. ;)

What made you decide to become ordained as a minister, Top? And do you plan to eventually seek employment as one?

Ah, ok, that's what I was looking for--I hadn't realized you'd gone to seminary.

I really don't think being a minister is my calling... so yay for wasting time getting a degree I'll never use! \:D/ I thought it was in high school and while "never say never" is a good rule of thumb in life, especially in God's calling, it really isn't something I see myself getting involved in again. =;

(much to the delight of anyone who would attend the church I would theoretically pastor ;))

Heh, I suppose I should post the seminary I attended. I probably wouldn't have gone there but I got a free scholarship, soooo... \:D/

Anyway, HERE it is. I enjoyed my time there, I suppose, and its nice being ordained and all... though I feel like I really didn't learn a whole lot there that I didn't already know. :-k
