10 Simple Pleasures

10. Watching TV/movies (or our favorite Aluminum documentary when it is on!) with my husband after the kids are in bed.

You like watching documentaries on Aluminum? That sounds pretty dull, lol.

No offense taken. I think it's actually on a number of metals, but the Aluminum guy is awesome. It's one of those inside joke kind of things.

Frank's Top 10 (in no particular order):
1. The unbelivable refreshingness of my bare feet in cool, running water on a hot day.

2. The sweetness of gazing at my little pet bird as she sleeps on my shoulder with her head tucked into her wing.

3. Slowly playing "Liz on Top of the World" (from the Pride and Prejudice score) on my piano, with all the windows in the living room open.

4. Musing through Psalm 91; how sweet it is to take refuge in God like a little bird hiding under its mother's wings!

5. Softly singing the hymn, "How Deep the Father's Love for Us," while slowly and dreamily washing the dishes.

6. Peeling the clear protective cover off of the screen of a new electronic device (like a cell phone, or laptop); oh, so satisfying.

-and now my whole family has decided to crowd into this computer room, and so I must finish these later.

7. Sitting with a good book (and also my bird) in a big cozy chair on a rainy day.

8. Finding something in a store that is either remarkably cute or stunningly tasteful (like a small, simply yet elegantly decorated journal, or a package of adorable little Asian muffin cups)...especially when I never expected such a store to carry something so wondrous (especially if it has some type of bird on it).

9. Sweet moments of fellowship with believers in which I thank God for the work of His Spirit in making us all one in His body.

10. Beholding a large mountain, grassy meadow, enclosed garden, dark forest or any sort of area in which all sorts of adventures could be had!

1) Saying one sentence that makes me sound intelligent.
2) Coming inside to the air conditioning.
3) Going on a run.
4) Eating a popsicle.
5) Using permanent markers.
6) Getting mail.
7) Finding a cool picture in a magazine.
8) Laughing so hard I cry.
