Camp Rock
Camp Rock
So, Camp Rock (starring the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato) came out on Friday and I'm just wondering if anyone else saw it and if they did, what they thought of it.
Personally, i think that the passage of time was not handled well and that the Jonas Brothers can't act. The music was catchy though...

maybe its not the destination, maybe it's the journey

The JBs might not be the best actors, but they weren't bad. Besides that, I loved this movie. The music was great, all the other acting was really good, and most of the singing was really good.
Plus, I really liked the whole story. I'm just in love with the movie. And I think it's much better than HSM. But I really wish people wouldn't compare them, because HSM is a musical. Camp Rock isn't. Plus, it's no contest.

Yeah, the Jonas Brothers are not the best actors. but they were still not completely like.. eh.. like Mary-Kate and Ashley per say...
I liked the plot but i didn't like Mitchie because it seemed like she had a perfect life at the beginning of the movie and all of a sudden it's like, we can't afford Camp Rock, even though her room is loaded with poop that looked expensive!! And then, of course, the end of the movie just had to turn out right! i sort of liked Tess...

I saw half of it... it was interesting. The main lead girl character (Mitchi?) had a good voice. I wanna buy the soundtrack now. And I know all my money just went bye bye in less than a day.... dang. I need more now... Joe Jonas was quite interesting in the movie... a complete drag, if I say. He wasn't cute, was mean, and just a mess. At least for the first half. I went to bed. I had gotten up at 3:30 AM that morning... and never slept on the train. Life SUCKS!
The other two, Nick and....I forget the other brothers name. Woops! See, I am so noooot into the Jonas Brothers. The other two brothers were just hilarious. Especially the forgotten named one. I love when they are in the car, and Joe is like so against it (character name is Shane Gray... NEW NAME, STAT!) and that scene was hilarious. My sister would agree wholeheartedly. But, awesome.
Not bad, except it was easy to see what would happen from from the beginning. It's like every other movie. Heartbreak, new crowd, forget your other friends, LIE THROUGH YOUR NOISE LIKE CRAZY!, and in the end, beat the snobby witch... I hated that girl. Seriously... that's why I don't like competitions, facing other girls, or wearing make-up and preppy clothes. Or even being Rich (which I am so not. Thank goodness!).
It was all right, in my opinion. Better than HSM, hands down. I hated HSM... that wasn't completely a warped movie... Camp Rock was better. But never the best. I've seen waaay better movies, like the Lizzie McGuire Movie. Loved that one...

Regarding the above statement, I disagree entirely. Every line of Kevin's was uneeded and unfunny, in my opinion. In fact, no one would notice if he wasn't in the movie at all. I wish he was given better lines and more screen time.
Seems like every line was forced and unorignial.
I did not enjoy this movie. Typical Disney, too predictable, corny, same ole story line. Believe in yourself and don't try to be someone else theme.
Demi has a good voice, but the songs did not challenge her at all. I will buy her album,if the song quality is better.
Now... the Jo Bros... Honestly, none of them can act. You can model, act, sing and dance,... problem is, most people can only do one or two fairly well in... and suck at all the others.
Honestly, I can't believe I wasted two hours of my life.

ok, I know I'm too old for disney ( I'm 19), but I like their movies and such, it is way better than all these other shows and movies they have out.
Camp Rock I liked, but I thought the ending could have been better, it kinda ended wrong. But then again I'm used to endings where the two characters kiss ( Like HSM, which I like, I like the plot and I like the actor/actresses, yes I like Vanessa but I like her character in HSM more than she herself. Most of all I like the music. I actually used HSM as a point in some of my Philosophy papers, about cliques and such and how the movie can show that we are supposed to be equal and not judge others.). I liked the songs in Camp Rock, but I think the choreography was wrong, a little to much shoulder shaking in " We Rock", the last song. Over all, I kinda thought the movie was lame, I like the characters and the singing, but they could have danced better and some people could have had more lines. I thought it was too short for something like that.
I looked it up and there is talk about a Camp Rock 2 coming out in 2009-2010. Maybe it will be better.

Yes, Kevin was sort of un-needed and was not the best acting, but what can you expect from a 'pop'ular boy band that are all brothers and started out on Disney Channel, no offense to Disney or anything. i just thought that Nick and Kevin could have been cut and no one would have even noticed. It was just all Joe.

Thank you! That is what I was trying to say.Mrs John Deere wrote:Yes, Kevin was sort of un-needed and was not the best acting, but what can you expect from a 'pop'ular boy band that are all brothers and started out on Disney Channel, no offense to Disney or anything. i just thought that Nick and Kevin could have been cut and no one would have even noticed. But I would've been very sad if Kevy wasn't there. I love him. lol.
And I think they just figured that if they had one of the brothers in there, they needed the other two, because they're never in anything without all three of them. It's just because they're always grouped together because of the Jonas Brothers.

I believe the only reason he was there, because the others were in it. At least they could have given him lines of substance.BrokenButBeautiful wrote:But I would've been very sad if Kevy wasn't there. I love him. lol.

But... I should shut up now, enough negative comments for the day.
