Who's Excited about American Idol???

David Cook could take a song and make it his own (ex. Always Be My Baby on Mariah Carey week) while in contrast Archuleta was a karaoke gimmick.

I don't think anyone can discount Archuleta's vocal ability, especially considering he damaged his vocal chords when he was younger. But I do agree that he is less of a true artist than Cook. Albeit artistry can be developed and Archuleta is eight years younger than Cook. Archie is a good singer, but he will improve with time.

Wait, are we talking about American Idol or Archuleta? On the one hand, you seem to be criticizing his inability to sing anything other than karaoke... while on the other hand, you're suggesting American Idol wasn't the appropriate avenue for him to take. Personally, I would've liked to have seen him wait another two or three years to develop his own style before auditioning on Idol. That would have added further maturity to both his voice and his performances.

Why is it called America IDOL anyway??
That's the only reason I dont watch it is because of the name

I totally agree! Him loosing (at all) but especially by that much just does not make sense!!!
I know! And isn't it odd that they did that story about his DA's Dad right before the finale? Something fishy is going on!

are you kidding me.. the voting is so not rigged David A should have been gone like before Anyone else except the first guy who left.. he was bad. David cook was definately the best, which is why he won.

:O i think it is rigged!!! and how could u say that he had to best voice out of everybody!!!!!! He was never in the bottom 3 that HAS to show you something!!! I will admit david C had a decent voice...but Archie is deffinently WAY better!!

because DA sings slow songs and when he tried to do something else he really stank. slow songs put me to sleep...unless they're by like Bing and Frank, because that's what was in back then. anyways.. yeah.

To simply judge a show or a book or something else is like for someone to judge you just by hearing your name or perhaps knowing your name and seeing bits and pieces of your life. Now I admit until this last season I've never watched it, not because of the title but simply because it didn't interest me. I only got hooked on it a bit when I was hanging out with some friends and they were watching it. You know it's a lot like Star Search come to think of it. Lest of what I remember of that show.

i have 2 say that i did watch american idol this season because i wanted to see david a win so bad...i thought he would but he didnt!!!! i was sooo upset that he didn't win.
