I could care less about American Idol. When the local news starts talking about that show I just turn the sound down or change the channel.

LA Times today had it at the bottom of the front page of the main section, plus taking up 2/3 of the front page of the Calendar section. ](*,)

I couldn't agree more! I used to watch American Idol when I was still attending college back in Michigan but when I moved back to Colorado I had better things to do on Wednesday night than watch TV so I never watch American Idol.

This is another good point as to why I shouldn't be watching it.

Finally I don't watch it because I was reading in the Focus on the Family Citizen Magazine that some poor guy got eliminated from American Idol because he had made a vow of purity. He had not kissed a girl and was a virgin. Randy Jackson said he should return when he went and kissed several girls. I was shocked! One more reason to add to the list of reasons why not to watch American Idol.

Yeah, and when David wins... It set some people off (literally), at my school. David against Sharayah... I was laughing histerically. (Oh, make that David C. Did I just spoil that for someone? Sorry, it's been two days.)

Well I do watch American Idol sometimes....mostly just the finals though. It's not like I'm totally obsessed with it. But I hate it how people get so obsessed with it and how mean Simon can be. :anxious:

I enjoyed it this year because the person I wanted to win had at least gotten to the top two.... normally the people I like get the boot in the top 24.

Preferably, I would have liked for David Archuleta to have won because he is a better singer but I'm not at all disappointed in the fact that Cook won. Cook is very humble and seems like he's a really cool guy. Either way, both guys did great and hopefully will give us some sweet songs in the future!

I voted like 10 times for Archie that night.... At least he knows that the half the country is behind him.

You made it through? The lines were busy all night for me! But, if the lines were always busy, how did he lose? I wonder...

Well, Cook had a 12 million vote lead, so I think that makes things pretty clear.

Anyway, why is Clay Aiken such a weirdo? http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,360041,00.html

I don't believe the votes were right. It had to have been rigged. I find it hard to believe that a young humble, sweet boy with such a pure voice could lose to Cook.

Besides, Archuleta is cuter! \:D/

I believe it was all set up for Cook to win, even if the votes were in favor of Archuleta. But that is just my theory.

Well, we all know TMZ is a reputable source, so I guess the story must be true!

Literally everyone I know who follows the show voted for Cook and thought Archie was a dweeb, so its not hard to believe at all that people favored Cook. ;)

I was pleasantly surprised when Cook won. They'd been pimping Archuleta since day one.

Not that he didn't deserve it or anything. :-k

What kind of friends do you have that would think David Archuleta is a dweeb?! Just look at him and his darling face:
http://jeremiahandrews.files.wordpress. ... /david.jpg

When he sings, doesn't your heart stop beating and don't you forget how to breathe? :inlove:

He beat out hundreds of thousands of people and was runner-up. I'd like to see those who called him a "dweeb" or a "nerd" do what he did at the age of 17 and with a paralyzed vocal chord.

I would be willing to wager most of his support was from those 15 and under. :noway:
