Happy Birthday Happysmiler!

Congratulate her here.

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

No, she actually means 18th. ;)

After your 17th birthday, that means 17 years have passed therefore the year you are living now is actually your 18th year. ;)

I see. Just like we're living in the 21st century, even though we haven't even hit 2100 yet? :-

Laura Ingalls was correct. O:) That's why I included 17th in the Happy Birthday... so people wouldn't think that I didn't know what age she is turning. :anxious:

I want to thank every one of you who posted birthday greetings here. I know that in America, my birthday isn't over yet, but since it's almost over here, I thought I'd post now. You all don't know how much this means to me! I really, really appreciate your thoughtfulness!

I would like to mention a few people individually:

Chandler - thanks for starting this topic, and for being so fun!

EK - thanks for the unique birthday greeting and for being so, well, EK. :D

Monday - thank you so much for the good friend and encouragement you've been to me this past year! I'm so glad that we can be friends!

Top - thanks for that cool greeting! I like that new name! "Happily Evil Smiling Chick" :D

Trent - thanks for the good friend you've been, too!

Andrea - thank you also for being a very good friend!

I had a wonderful day today! I didn't have a huge party. I prefer small family celebrations. I had a delicious birthday dinner, consisting of chicken, potatoes, green beans, and jello salad. And I had a Snickers cheesecake. (That was very good!!)

I watched Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory with my siblings and my dad while my mom took a nap. Then, this afternoon, a good friend of mine that I hadn't seen in a long time stopped by. That was a very nice surprise.

Oh yes, I can also tell you what I got. I got some small things from my younger siblings, a candle, some gum, nail polish, and some socks. My parents gave me a German/English dictionary, which is something I've wanted for a while now. They also told me that they scheduled for me to have my pictures taken on Friday. Since I never really graduated or anything, I didn't get senior pictures or anything like that. So, that was a very nice surprise! And my sister gave me a very nice present! She is quite an artist, and she painted me a picture of Whit's End!! I think it's an amazing picture!

So, yeah, that was my birthday. Thank you again for all of your birthday greetings! You guys are the best!!!

Those translator dictionaries are always helping. I'm presently learning French, and I have a feeling I'm going to be using the French/English dictionary quite a lot in the upcoming weeks and months. :-

Yes, she is an amazing artist, especially when you concider the fact that she's only 13!

This is the first picture she painted. She painted it for my mom's birthday last year, when she was 12!

Here's another one she did for my mom for Christmas.
