Heh, as much as I hate to say it, my dear relative Harlow probably wouldn't be that helpful. I'm thinking that Eugene, Whit, and Jason could help. Unfortunately, Whit and maybe Jason were supposedly taken by Blackgaard.

And so, according to the numbered user and ek, we need a password. ](*,) But what????
According to this quote:
PLEASE ENTER A PASSWORD
[****]
PASSWORD CLEARED
PLEASE SET A PASSWORD TO RECOVER FROM STASIS
[****]
The password is possibly a combination of 4 letters or numbers/letters & numbers.

Edit: Apparently numbered user is 17.

Oh, great, Blackguard. What next? Someone get Eugene! Since we probably don't have Whit or Jason, Eugene is our next best bet. By the way, how do we get a hold of Eugene? Or do we have to wait, since he's an NPC?
I like Odyssey. DBD was my favorite saga and I am friends with Eric Delko and prplrane_13. Marisol Delko Caine is my sister. I like Ponybox and listen to Linkin Park and Newsboys.

it you look at daniel's post carefully... there will be three links :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linear_A
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linear_B
http://www.ancientscripts.com/lineara.html

all of them about the linear script types. sooo ... since the file is *corrupted* could there be a possible "another" link to linearb (just need to change link from a to b in the ancientscript site) in the ancientscript site? It turns out there is. But so far I don't know if that links up or even if it will provide information we need...

John Seles, the original poster, told us to look for 1545. I believe he meant the user 31353435. Note the 2nd, 4th, 6th, and 8th characters. So what of the extra characters? My preliminary guess: The four extra numbers are the password; 3333 = ****. Anyhow, I have no idea what the password would be for. Aimlessly tried AIM and ToO accounts to no avail. Or perhaps the 3333 means nothing; it may have just been meant to lead us to this guy and his binary stuff.

Daniel's speak and listen make a little sense. From what I can tell:
61-69 = A-I
70-80 = P-Z
6a = J
6b = K
6c = L
6d = M
6e = N
6f = O

I think the Linear A and Linear B links were to give us the tools to help decipher the codes we've been given. I would read just enough to extract some principle you're supposed to apply to what we have here.

Also, who remembers Weff Riddles? Perhaps later on in the search, we'll have to access the files at the end of the message we've decoded so far...the txt/pdf/jpg ones.

If anyone has any fresh thoughts (not-so-fresh ones are welcome too, I suppose), please throw them out here. :) That includes you, Eugene NPC Meltsner.

so why does it not work? the links are definitely clues but the original are definitely hex decimals ;)

6c = L 69= I... and so on to make listen...

when an npc dumps info on you you usually use it. not question it.

Brilliant.

Only you could have found the data fragments. I've been trying to get into that annoying data being; the stupid thing's corrupted and I don't have a password. I thought you might know, but maybe it's more difficult than I thought.

By the way, I'm not as bad as John would like you to believe. He's a weakling, willing to make choices he regrets later so that others will believe his integrity now.

How about this... you help me, I help you. I can pay handsomely... and you help me find where the item is.

If anything, you can tell me what this is. I found it in his apartment.

This is what i've got as far as decoding it....

Code: Select all

atai*301waya
osukara
yasasarame
unakehasi
ipinama
sirute
I cant figure out the *301 but it seems like some kind of asian language...now dont take this as a reference because I fail at this and cant for the life of me figure it out completely but it lines up because on the wikipedia site it says
As such, it rather resembles modern Japanese writing in graphemic structure.
Now to you know...translate it to engrish...err...english. ;)

Also yay for Marcus- I side with evaaaaal. :x

EDIT:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troullos
Troullos being an Archaelogical site of Minoan-inity. >_>
So perhaps the answer was inscribed on an artifact found in Troullos?

EDIT EDIT:
Apparently not. There is no information regarding linear B, but perhaps the term and site Troullos is a part of the decoded clue...also do not trust my deciphering i'm working on a revised version...

Are you saying that Daniel is a NPC? Because I don't believe he is... :anxious:

Well I wasn't copying it straight from the paper I was trying to start decoding it from the Wikipedia article.
