What Do You Look For In A Guy/Girl?

If there's something on your mind that just doesn't seem to fall into any of the other categories, well, it quite likely belongs inside Joe Finneman's marketplace. Think of it as a general store for general discussions!

cuz it'd be hard to make a list... if I found someone I'd like I'd see if there was anything I didn't like.

I'm a very tolerant person, I like a lot of things, and I can get along with a lot of people. :)

Strictly hypothetically speaking, I would have to say I'd look for the same things as Raskolnikov.

Honestly I've just about given up looking for a girl. I mean If the right kind of lass does come around then I wont say no but I'm just a bit lazy and have a major tendency to give up easly.

Truth be told I'm not even sure if their are certin qualitys that I could list. I mean if I really thought about it I might be able to come up with something, but as of right now I just cant come up with anything. Perhaps because my mind set is set on single or perhaps because I'm really really board. Who knows really.

Didn't we have some fun, though? Remember when the platform was sliding into the fire pit and I said, 'goodbye.' And you were like, 'no, wait.' And then I was all, 'we pretended we were going to murder you.' That was great...

but if he's in the military... he won't be around you much, I think you'd miss him a ton, if you liked him, that is. :-k

aye, that's the one drawback, but still... I'm not sure exactly why, but I just think I could respect a man in the military more, or something. It's hard for me to explain, so I can't really try to argue about it. ;) They seem more honorable or responsible or better leaders or something.
Anyway, it's not like it's a checklist, just things I would look for in a guy.

Hm.. there's seems to be more of these than I first thought.

My "significant other* is former miltary but he still works in that capacity on occasion.. :D

I can understand, there's just something about a guy in uniform :inlove:

Hahaha...that's great! Honestly I'd say Republican should be a deal-breaker because you wouldn't want to be on different pages about those issues. One time when I was campaigning (I was going door-to-door) for President Bush I saw one house that had a Kerry sign and a Bush sign in their yard, attached to one was a sign that said "His" and on the other "Hers". It was kinda funny but sad too.

And we all know Mac Lover is a must! :D

Yeah, that is very true. Both of my Grandfathers and my brother were/are military men. I haven't seen my brother in over a year. He served his second tour of duty in Iraq and was away from his wife for a year and during their engagement he was away for 7 months (that was his first tour of duty). But I understand what you are saying, Dodger. A lot of military men do have a honor and maturity about them.

Well you asked...
I look for - a man who puts God first
- a great sense of humour (if you're going to spend the rest of your life with me you're going to need to be able to laugh or you will be miserable)
- a love of music (that's what I want my career to be, it would suck for both of us if he didn't REALLY like music)
- Sensitive but strong enough to kindly put me in my place (I have a really good guy friend who's good at this... he goes "MJ you know I love you but... fill in the blank (usually my attitude) needs to change" he's so good at it I rarely ever get mad or defensive
- Integrity he must be trustworthy, honourable, a man of God
- Incredibly sweet
- Love Children
- Adventerous (sp?) I'll try almost anything once...
- Romantic
- He doesn't have to be buff or the hottest thing on the planet but he should want to take care of himself, well dressed (I'm a sucker for a guy in a suit or with nice 'cowboy' clothes)

I think that's it for now!
It's good to visit again... it's been a while!

JF and I made verrry long lists of what we wanted in a guy one night. Here are some of the more creative things we came up with:

-best friend
-takes everything in stride
-nice laugh
-calming presence
-gives good massages
-smells good
-has a life (not focused on me!)
-confident/comfortable with himself (but not cocky)
-straightforward
-has common sense
-wide range of interests and hobbies
-passioniate about life and God

...and the list goes on and on

ok mine was NOT that long. :noway: It was only one side of one page and half as long as Kim's! and most of those on the list wee hers, not mine, though some were mine.

My list, however, will stay hidden for now, or untl the right guy comes along at the right time.
A woman's heart should be so hidden in Christ that a man would have to seek Him to find her.

No way! This one is very important and non-negotiable. If the guy doesn't have his own life apart from you he will drive you craaazy. Trust me. I know.
