My brother still watches that and he's 13.
Every once and a while I'll see an episode, but I don't make it a point to watch it.

Haha! Arthur is the official Frank Family show!
When I was little, my grandmother taped about 50 episodes off of the television and gave them to us...and we've been watching them ever since! (We don't have a tv.
) So...I can quote almost all the shows from '99 to '01.
It's quite fun, and yes, I still enjoy it very much even though I'm kinda too old for it. We haven't seen any new shows in a long time, and I wish that we could!

Hmmm...I think I shalt send this thread to the HT.
Everyday when you're walking down the street...everybody that you meet has an original point of view. And I say hey! What a wonderful kind of day! When you can learn to work and play and get along with each other. You've got to listen your heart, listen to the beat, listen to the rhythm, rhythm of the street...open up your eyes, open up your ears, get together and make things better by working together... <typed entirely from memory.

I started watching it again.

I watch some of the older episodes, but the newer ones stink! Arthur and Brain have very squeaky voices, it has more objectionable content, and in general they just seem to be running out of ideas.
For back-up proof, some of the newer episodes have included the following:
*Real ghosts (The Fright Stuff)
*The word "butt" (Citizen Frensky.. okay, could be worse, but this is PBS Kids, not Cartoon Network, people!)
*Promotion of superstition (Friday the 13th)
*Four-year-old girls being kissed and wanting to be kissed (Kiss and Tell)
*Arthur dieting because he outgrew his clothes (Arthur Weighs In)
*Plus, its spin-off, Postcards from Buster, had an episode that didn't air because it showed people with two moms and two dads. PBS released it on DVD, however.

They should've had age a year at some point. Some of the stuff they do is not really stuff 3rd graders would do on their own.underdogfan710 wrote:No, what I'm saying is the REASON is objectionable -- obviously eight-year-old boys don't outgrow their clothes unless something is wrong with them, right? *sarcasm*

I know! I wouldn't let my eight year old kid go to an ice cream place by himself whenever he wants to!Elrohir wrote:They should've had age a year at some point. I'm going to drop my 8 year old off at an abondoned mine every day instead of taking him to school!

I'm 18-years-old and caught myself enjoying an episode the other morning. And it made me think back to this thread. I agree with the poster who said something about in the new eps, Arthur and "The Brain"'s voices being different and squeaky, but that's because their voices are changing right? Like what our resident former Odyssey member Jimmy Barcley's voice did when he was still doing voice work. It is hard to move on from their younger voices though, then they sound totally different.
