The floor is plywood, and there is two night stands containing stuff and cardboard boxes containing books and Legos. I don't have a lamp because I have a ceiling light, a booklight, and a flashlight. I also have a window and a door to enter the room with.

Why aren't Americans usually interested in Canadian politics? Because Canada's population is smaller than California's, so Canada doesn't affect the USA as much as the USA affects Canada.
Who is currently the "President" of Canada? (And don't tell me there is no President, I already know) Justin Trudeau is prime minister, eldest son of Pierre Trudeau who was also a prime minister of Canada. In spite of appearances, prime minister is not actually an inherited position, but is elected at least every 4 years.

Yes. The rise of Bernie Sanders, and the continued survival of Donald Trump is quite surprising. It seems like anything could happen.

It seems too much a like a choice between corruption and incompetence.
