Well.. it changes for me.. but hmm.. I'll give you my current top 5 adult characters and my top 5 kid characters.

Adult Characters:
Jack Allen
John Avery Whittaker (Hal Smith to Paul Herlinger era)
Connie Kendall
Bryan Dern
Penny Wise

Kid Characters:
Jared DeWhite
Rusty Gordon
Monty Whittaker-Dowd
Jimmy Barclay (young)
Robin Jacobs

There are also lots more.. heh. Like Joanne Allen, [early] Eugene, June Kendall, Tom, Bernard, [original] Katrina, Bart Rathbone, Rodney, Edwin Blackgaard... etc. :p \:D/
