For those of you unfamiliar with the Twin Cities, I have to explain the picture and where I was. St. Paul, Minnesota, is a very catholic city, with several universities, an archdiocese, and more churches than I'm aware of. It also has a massive cathedral that would do Europe proud:

This year, even though I never attended, I am playing with the University of Minnesota Alumni Band, whose season runs from May through July. This year all our concerts are at/outside of Minnesota landmarks. Last week, we got to play on the front steps of the Cathedral, which is on the left of the above picture. I'm in the back row, right next to the two tubas holding a silver horn. The church is behind the picture taker, and downtown St. Paul is behind us.

Very cool. I love The Cathedral of St. Paul and have actually sung from the choir loft for a funeral there.

Wow, so many great pictures! Jonathan, I spotted you in the picture before I read the part where you explained where you were. \:D/ It looks like you're going to have a great summer! The cathedral is amazing! You could easily claim to be touring Europe and nobody (from non-Minnesota areas of the world) would call you a liar. :D I think that I might have kind of seen it before while going to a Wild game a few years ago, unless there is something else impressive that might be visible from a parking structure within walking distance of the arena. I can't find my pictures from that trip right now to check.

Dan, which one is you? It looks like one big band picture! :lol:

If you were at the Xcel Center, then yes you were looking at the Cathedral.

edit--I actually had to look at Dan's pic twice b/c I wasn't sure who was him at first glance. Looks like he should be in the group.

I never played at the Cathedral, but back in the homeschool band days, we did play at the Capitol building once, just across from the Cathedral.
However, the weather looks beautiful and I have to say that your pictures are making me a little homesick. :-$
