Rebecca Black is back!
Rebecca Black is back!
You may recall that Ark Music Factory put out a so-called official sequel to Friday a while ago. Though I don’t think they can actually say they have an official anything in the Friday franchise after the dispute. Anyway, it was good fun. Somewhat catchy and a great self-parody.
But now Rebecca Black has released an official official sequel herself!
It’s a collaboration with Dave Days, and yes it is called Saturday.
It contains multiple references, in the lyrics and imagery, to the infamous first song.

A mindless, unintelligent and consequence-free dance video complete with a Miley Cyrus impression and a blowup doll. What's not to love?

I heard about it a few days ago. It's just. .no. Please, no.

Even if it's not brilliant, I don't think it's horrible.
she's rather brave to poke fun at herself; it's not something I do easily

Till the end of the line.
At least her voice is better...
But that's the only positive thing I can say about it.

IT'S BELLE/DOLL/GG - I'M BAAAAAAACCCKK!
It's not even that bad guys. It's just.. not exactly memorable either.

I don’t really like it as a song, but I love what it is. Like Ark’s, it’s a well done self-parody of the situation surrounding the first song, acknowledging that yes it is mockable, but they’re going to make the best of all the attention.
I would love it so much if she released a song for every day of the week.
The only thing better about this song is that her singing voice has improved. Other than that, I did not like this song at all.

I have followed her some on YouTube and if you watch her Draw My Life video, it changes your perspective. "Friday" was supposed to just be a fun little song but it exploded more than she expected. One of those crazy things in which YouTube makes things go crazy.
With that being said, I don't care for her solo singing but she is alright when she sings with others.

I knew that, that’s why I was never a Rebecca hater. She didn’t make Friday with the intention of getting famous, it was just for fun.
