Some of you may have noticed that this term, a tradition has been broken. A tradition that has not been broken in seven terms. JPM has refused to follow this tradition. What is this tradition, you ask? The tradition of making American Eagle a moderator, of course! And hopefully you know that the breaking of this tradition should not be taken lightly. And so we, the people of The Town of Odyssey, hereby petition to have JPM impeached for their crimes and replaced with American Eagle as Mayor and Woody as CoP. Thank you.

What qualifies American Eagle to be a mod?

Because history demands it! He has been a moderator(or Admin) for seven terms in a row. This is ToO tradition! And it should not be ignored.

I firmly denounce this petition. Forcing a moderator selection merely to continue a ‘streak’ is disdainful. Furthermore, the ‘streak’ was actually broken last election and then controversially reinstated, when AE was not originally selected, but then chosen to replace JCGJ, who then did not leave after all, but AE remained.

That is hardly grounds for impeachment; moderator criteria is up to the discretion of each administration. There is not a required quota of new members that must be selected.

Traditions are there in order to follow something that has been done a certain way for multiple years. That, is what a tradition is. Yet, traditions are also there to be broken and make new traditions. To step outside the box and live a new way. To take risks and chances.
For if it weren't for risks and chances, we wouldn't have the technology or inventions we have today. If it weren't for risks and chances, we wouldn't even have the ToO. Therefore, Sometimes we must take the chance and break the usual standards to accomplish something different and interesting. If AE has been in the same position for so long, perhaps the head thought it best to give someone else a chance? Perhaps AE's time was up? Perhaps this was just a new way to break the old and make anew? New traditions and paths are always worth at least trying. While I can understand ones thoughts toward this, I think a change might be good for all. Wise decision. For, nothing lasts forever, and the best is yet to come.

(Forgive my frantic, and random rambling. I'm afraid you'll see that from me from time to time. I live amongst chaos and pandemonium. )

In actuality, I believe at least three of our moderators selected this term are new to the position of moderating on this board. This is, however, the last post I will make in "defense" of our selection.

I have to agree with bookworm on this one...

I believe that, when a moderator begins to feel as though they are entitled to be a mod, that privelage should not be reinstated for awhile.
